12" Vinyl Record 3D Model
12" Vinyl Record
This is a detailed 3D model of a 12-inch vinyl record, created to real-world scale and measured from an authentic record.
The model is designed for both close-up renders and performance-friendly use, making it ideal for product visualization, interior scenes, animations, and real-time applications.
12records such as this one were commonly played at 33 ⅓ RPM in a clockwise direction. Normally, an LP would hold between 5 and 7 songs. However, extended versions of songs were sometimes printed on 12 records but played at 45 RPM instead.
The record comes complete with an inner paper sleeve and an outer cardboard sleeve, all correctly parented and aligned for easy manipulation.
Level of Detail
• LOD0 – High-poly model with individually modeled grooves for maximum realism.
• LOD1 – Optimized low-poly version with baked textures for efficient rendering and game use.
Textures
• Clean – A fresh, new vinyl look.
• Dirty – With dust and subtle scratches for addedrealism and character.
The low-poly version of the vinyl record has been carefully UV unwrapped and baked to eliminate Moiré artifacts. These distracting “banding linesoften appear when fine circular details, such as record grooves, interact with the pixel grid during rendering. By baking the surface detail into high-quality textures and optimizing the UV layout, the low-poly model maintains the same visual realism as the high-poly version, without the unwanted shimmer or interference patterns that can ruin close-up renders.
Both the record label and album cover can be easily replaced with your own artwork. If you don’t have your own art, you’re welcome to use the included example design.“The Paper Quasarsis not a real band. The logo and design were created by me and are free for you to use in your projects.
Features
• Modeled to real-world scale (12" vinyl record dimensions)
• Includes high-poly and low-poly LODs
• Clean and dusty texture variants
• Easily customizable materials (record label & cover art)
• Inner and outer sleeves included and properly parented
• Compatible with Blender (Cycles) and exported to common 3D formats
• All textures included (PBR-ready)
• Perfect for music-themed scenes, vintage setups, product close-ups, or game environments
