Fine looking flintlock
Pattern 1742 Long Land Musket for DAZ Studio 3D Model
In the event oit might be of use we have here the British Board of Ordnance Long Land Musket, Pattern of 1742. The P1742 was more robust than its predecessors and served The Army well for many years, including the Seven Years War and the American Revolution. This 4k asset is based upon a surviving example with a lock set up by Jordan in 1745, though the exact date of its completion is unknown, as only the locks were dated and they often remained in store for years before the musket was completed. The practice of dating locks ceased in the 1760s as troops believed they were receiving 'old' firelocks despite their having been recently completed. This one also has the latter iron ramrod, trumpeted front rammer pipe and brass fore-end cap, which might or might not be a latter alteration.
The seperate ramrod and bayonet load by default in ready position with the musket, which allows them to be parented with a few clicks to follow the musket about or pose separately as required. The textures as provided are lighter than in the prome image - this is quite deliberate, as darkening is easier than lightening, and the user can darken as desired for taste and light. The textures respond well to Surfaces adjustment with lots of potential for variation without the need for adding additional textures. The latter is quite possible, however, as the textures are divided by material type.
The third to last compares the musket assecond to last image compares the default texture loads (top)and what can be achieved with a few clicks in Surfaces without outside influence, starting with a shift on the wood to Specular Glossiness . There's lots of possibilities; don't hesitate to play.
The second to last image shows the same musket with the bayonet fixed and unfixed.
The last image shows the musket with substituted textures on wood (Rendernode Cathedral Walnut 59), flint (UHD Minerals from Dimension Theory in DAZ), and leather DD PBR Seude Leather Shaders by Digital Delirium in DAZ. These are what I like; you might like something else.
