A great addition to any character!
Wet Faces G8F
Oh no! You've entered a soup-eating contest and you forgot to bring your spoon! Or maybe you're getting waterboarded! Or possibly you just bit into a great big water balloon!! There's lots of completely ordinary, wholesome situations where your face might be smeared with messy, slippery goop!
A set of DAZ Iray partial material files for Genesis 8 Female, that apply a variety of Top Coat settings using a grayscale mask files to the face and lip material selections, to give the effect of wetness on the character's face, in a variety of styles.
The material files included will apply any of these on a target figure that already has textures and materials loaded, using the TOP COAT channel of the shader on the G8F Face and Lips material selections. Before attempting to use any of these materials, **make sure that your character's Face and Lips are not already using the TOP COAT branch**, as any of these files will overwrite what is in place on the character in your scene. While Top Coat is not usually used on most skin areas, it is not uncommon to see it used on the LIPS in the form of lip gloss/lipstick. Be prepared to re-apply any materials that might be overwritten in this case.
To remove any of these partial materials included, select the character and run the !Face Dry material file, which will un-link the mask map from FACE and LIPS/TOP COAT shader branch and reset the Top Coat Weight value to zero.
Caveats:
- While the UV map for the G8 Female and G8 Male Genitalia mesh are somewhat different, the point of this particular item is to be a messy smeary gloop on the character's face, so precise positioning is not very important. Feel free to plop these onto whatever G8 Male character you like.
- The UV map for the G8F and G8.1F figures is the same for the face and lips material slections, so no special concern is required for either case.
- The Top Coat feature is present by default in shaders built from the Iray Uber Base shader, and should be present in most variations, but it is possible that you might have character materials using a shader that does not support this feature. If you check your character's original Face and Lips materials and there is no Top Coat branch, no support is provided for this case!
- Reminder: Some character materials may already be making use of the Top Coat branch on the Lips for the effect of lip gloss or makeup. Be prepared to re-apply any materials that might be overwritten in this case.
- The Top Coat feature uses REFLECTION and REFRACTION in rendering, and is very lighting- and scene-dependent. If you do not have lights and/or objects in your scene for the Top Coat to react to, you will need to adjust your scene content or the material itself.
