Thoughts on my hair shader?

I'm working on my own hair shader for strand based hairs and was looking for some thoughts. My goal is to have a shader that makes it easier to get the exact tones that I want while not being overly photorealistic to where it feels out of place on simpler character and I feel that the omni hair shader is too complicated for my needs. It always feels like a hassle to work with and I'm never really satisfied with the results I get with it.
