Blu Ice. Sexy robot contest entry 1. (CLOSED)

This is my first entry for the contest.
I worked in Daz for most of the base and advanced work. I used Photoshop to work on textures, details etc.
I started with the base Genesis 8F figure and modified from there, having to work with the textures, outfit, hair, etc. It took a couple of geoshell layers to get all the effects I wanted on her skin/metal components. The main robot shape came from a preset that I had that I found on Daz. I had to work on texturing the different areas of her hair to get the multicolored look. I tweaked her overall shape to give her the edge that I was looking for. Took a long time to dial in the exact details and shape that I wanted for her.
I found the car on Artstation and had to have it. If you use Flanker in your search, you should find it. Again, worked with the textures and had to fix some of them that were backwards in the original files. The car is awesome, just needed some tweaking to manually add all the layers to the car in Daz. You had to manually assign all the layers such as diffuse, normal, bump, metallicity, roughness to all the different groups of the car. I added a couple of logos and like I said, I had to fix some that were backwards on the model.
I normally work on the figure first, that took about 2 x 6-8 hour days or so to go from bare, naked character to what you see here. Had to work on her shape, her skin and metal details. I had to create/tweak some of the opacity files to get the exact look between fake skin and metal looks. I then run through my inventory of clothing and accessories to come up with the overall outfit look to fit the character. I had to manually tweak how each layer of clothing interacted with the others so that there was no poke-throughs. Had to spend time tweaking the colors on her outfit pieces to reflect how I wanted them to look overall.
Then worked on the environment and lighting for a couple of days. I had to go through a lot of lighting environment files to get the exact lighting I wanted for the scene and of course had to tweak it's intensity, etc.
The camera was also tweaked and I normally rely on my real world photography skills to help get the look I want in the camera. It's sad that the Daz/computer processing does not match the real world working of cameras and all the settings. Lighting is literally key to the whole look. You can have the best image, but if the lighting sucks, then the image will look like crap.
I forgot to get a bunch of wip stuff, but will try to do more on the next entry. I did include the wireframe for the character to show that I actually did all the work. I hate the whole AI "art" crap. Anyway, hope you like my entry. Good luck everyone.

Ok, lesson learned. I just figured out that the gallery image that gets posted is the last image in the original message. So, from now on, I have to make sure that the last image is the one I want seen in the gallery. (sigh). Wish I had known that first.

Fri, Feb 10, 2023You can create a 400x400 in photoshop and make your own thumbnail, drag your render into it and size it to where you want to focus on. Post it last and it will show in the gallery

Very sexy render I'm not sure what's sexier the girl or the car lol.
Nice work it's got that cyberpunk vibe to it.
Alot of thought and tweaking put into it.
Good luck with your entry.
If you do happen to make your own thumbnail. Put a message "Thumbnail for the gallery view" so it doesnt get mistaken as your entry.

Fri, Feb 10, 2023LOL, I know. I was debating about not putting in the car because it is so cool, but felt it added to her whole character. Thank you!
I will make sure and remember the deal with the thumbnail for gallery view bit. I appreciate it.
