Will pay for someone to build me a volume calculator (CLOSED)
397DAZ3d has a tool called "Measure Metrics for DAZ Studio" see https://www.daz3d.com/measure-metrics-for-daz-studio and what it does is to measure the height and circumference of different body parts of a character so that instead of guessing how tall a character is or what size waist a character has, the tool tells you exactly.
I'm interested in a variation of this tool which would provide the volume that a character takes up by creating a cube and then inserting the character inside that cube and telling my how many cubic inches or cm a character is taking up.
Any takers, please message me first.

I looked at your links and they're all dead. Just letting you know.
Heck, I'm interested just cos I want to know why you want the info.
And it sounds soooo boolean.
Good luck and if I see anything I will let you know.
can you measure space in Blender? If so, then its a boolean operation and the parameters would possibly be displayed
*shrug?*

Fri, Apr 07, 2023I have stats of various prize fighters that break down the body measurements in great detail including height and weight. My plan it to build a raw character to those exact measurements and use your tool to calculate his volume.
Then if his volume is 1000 cubic inches or centimeters or whatever, and his weight is 200 pounds, I create a ratio to figure out the weights of other characters. Using these example numbers, it would be the volume number divided by five to give me the weight of the character in pounds.
So if my character was 1200 cubit whatevers, then his weight would be 240 pounds. I know that it is not going to flaws because muscle weighs more than fat but it will at least be a starting point. There is currently nothing out there at comes close to offering the weight of a character.
How much would you charge? It would have to be simple to use. You would create a cube or sphere that would be scalable and then when an object is moved into that sphere or cube, it would calculate the volume the object was taking up
You may want to watch the Measure Metrics video on youtube for how simple the tool should be to use.
So how much would you charge to build it? Keeping in mind that would could market this as a weight measurement tool and reselling it multiple times.

dim would this be leaning towards what you need?

Fri, Apr 07, 2023reading the English part ... the answer is yes. How I would do it in DAZ, I don't have a clue
if you are based in the US, I'm willing to pay you with a VISA or Amazon gift card if you show me how to do it. It needs to be simple because I plan to use it a lot

I can't do that kind of programming Dim, I was just perusing and saw your post and wanted to see if there was anything I could do. I'll keep my eyes out for ppl for you. I'm pretty good at finding .. "things"

Sun, Apr 09, 2023Thank you. If you find someone that can do this for me at a reasonable price, I will pay you a finder's fee in appreciation. I really want this because I want to start including weight with my characters and I don't want to be guessing.
Couldn't you just create a cube grid with an accuracy of up to 10 mm? After all, the skein would contain sliding bars that would work like in a caliper - so the dimensions wouldn't be lost and you wouldn't have to check them visually.
You move the cube mesh, move the height, width and depth slider and you have the dimensions as if you were projecting.
It's certainly easier and cheaper than doing the program in prog. Especially since things like waist circumference won't tell you what a character's weight is anyway, unless all your characters by definition have the same fitness, same age, same lifestyle, same diet and same body fat percentage and are in the same training.

Wed, Nov 22, 2023I'm not sure how to do any of the stuff that you said but if it accurately calculates the volume of a character, I'm willing to pay you if you get it working for me.
