Getting Steamy (CLOSED)

Rendered in Daz with multi-layered Dforce water elements, then the steam applied in layers in PS. Lets just hope whatever material she's made out is corrosion-resistant.

Steamy!!
Just call it a nano shower and your all good
Nice water and steam effects.
Was having a conversation the other day about how water beads up on plastic and smears on human skin. Looks beaded here. I guess that would also depend on the angle.
Nice work.
Good luck with this entry

Thu, Mar 09, 2023Thanks. Yeah, you're exactly right, on something like this, which is meant to resemble synthetic skin, I used smaller beads and increased the refraction through them to accentuate their shape even further so you end up with the appearance of rounder droplets, then using acutely angled light sources to draw the light through them without directly hitting the surface they're sitting on "head-on".
The steam was particularly time consuming, I've tried volumetric clouds in the past but they don't offer enough versatility with dispersion at various distances so the technique I found that works (for me, at least) is to apply dry ice effects on various layers, each with varying degrees of opacity.
