How do you store your OBJ data (mostly clothes).... (CLOSED)
84 that you want to sell here?
I have unfortunately caused inconvenience to my buyers and the folders were not correct. I don't want that to happen again (they were all very nice and understanding that I am still a beginner).
So: I always make the clothes in Marvelous Designer and then save them as OBJ, import them into DAZ3D and then customize them for the right figure and then save them under "Porps" (I hope the name is right I don't have Daz in front of me right now), then a window comes up with product name, item name and vendor name and where to save it.
Let's say I made a pair of jeans. How would you proceed?
Thank you very much!

Hi KuraiKya!
Normally we follow the file structure based on Daz's folders. For example, if you're creating clothes:
People ' Name of The Figure ' Clothing ' Your Artistic Name' Awesome Outfit
If you're doing objects like cellphones, weapons, and etc:
Props' Your Artistic Name 'Awesome Prop
A cool thing you can do is explain where people can find your product in the product's main page, for example these freebies i'm giving:
https://www.renderhub.com/dieggomasamune/guaiamus-surfboards
https://www.renderhub.com/dieggomasamune/pajamas-for-genesis-3-female
So following that you can add on the product's main page something like:
Prop and Materials are in Props' Your Artistic Name ' Awesome product
Remember to add that in the readme file too, it will help. Feel free to download them to use as base too if you want
I hope it helps and have a great day!

Fri, Apr 28, 2023Don't worry, it happens. As you said, you're still learning and the buyers understood that, so if you reupload them with changes it will be fine
If you have any questions, please let me know.
If you have any questions, please let me know.for the path of a garment it all depends on the version of genesis used.
an example for G8F
the typical path to the duf file is
My LibrarypeopleGenesis 8 FemaleClothing your username
I also use
My LibrarypeopleGenesis 8 FemaleClothing_your username
for the dialog when saving the garment

Vendor name must be your username => KuraiKy (for me it's dorothee237)
For the product name you can write : dress, or pants or clothing ...
For the Itame Name : it is filled by default, it is best not to modify it

For the record, as soon as I told KuraiKya that the clothes I bought from them didn't work they immediately went to work long and hard trying to fix it. I give them 10+ stars for doing everything they can to get the file structure correct. I certainly hold no grudges and I will not request a refund.
But I have to say, after two years of this I still haven't figured out how to package products for sale either. Honestly, I'm shocked that there are ANY vendors for Daz Studio's products, given the difficulty we have figuring out how to create and package content for sale (let alone installing and using content). I mean, the largest folder in my "Smart" Content is the Lost & Found. Even Victoria 4.2 Base has a dead icon rather than a product thumbnail... Daz Studio has no standardization at all. It has been nothing short of embarrassing to watch Daz function, from a business standpoint.
Keep trying and keep learning, KuraiKya. You'll get there eventually!
