This place has the BEST characters! (CLOSED)

I regularly purchase my products here and at two other sites and while this place is not the cheapest, it does offer the BEST characters.
I just wish that more G3 and maybe even G2 would still be offered. I know that it is older technology but I have tons of clothing and accessories for those older characters that I'm not ready to retire yet.

There's a good collection of characters here. Both in terms of originals and IPs. It's cool being able to show off what all they can do. It's slowly getting there on accessories for said characters, too.
The feedback loop is cool to see as well, a product of a great community.

To use all your older stuff on G8, simply transform it with RYSS converter G2 to G8 or G3 to G8. It works easy and give you a wide range of

Wed, Jul 26, 2023While I like the realism of G8, I prefer G3 because it's less expensive on rendering. Rendering two G8 characters in a scene is pretty much my limit before DAZ freezes up and even crashes but I can render 4-5 G3 characters in the same scene with no issues. That's another reason why I'd prefer to see new stuff for the older Genesis's.
I regularly use G3 Hair and Clothing on G8 characters
Daz Studio does a good job of fitting them (or as Hannes suggets you can take the time to convert the pieces your really like)
I have a few V4 clothes I still use from time to time on G8 characters that I converted with the RSSY clothing converters
I would suggest getting Fit Control by ZevO (available at Daz) and it's add ons.
I've saved many a poorly made outfit by adding the fitting morphs
As with all things at Daz, wish list it and wait for it to go on sale...everything eventually does over there

Wed, Jul 26, 2023Since you seem to know a lot about this stuff, how do I use G9M hair on G8M? I tried parenting it to the head but it sits around the ears instead and I can't move it while it's parent'ed. If I unparent it, it doesn't move with the character.

Wed, Jul 26, 2023until this time, there is no real good solution to downgrade G9 to G 3 or 8.
The only way might be over export to *.obj and rebuild it for 3 or 8.
To reduce rendertime, it helps to adjust the texure to a lower resolution. Most time you need
only 512 by 512 or 1024 by 1024 pix. The 4k textures overload the ram and will not give a better result
on the finished render. What the hell doe a 4k texture on lips or eyes? also on some hair and clothing.
Years ago I found a program that can doe the job pretty good. I search 4 it and tell U the name.

I hadn't tried to use G9 hair on G8 but it is relatively simple
1 Load you G8 figure

2 Unclick the G8 figure...make sure you have nothing in the scene selected

3 Find your G9 hair

4- With nothing selected, load your hair

5- You will get something like this

6-With only the hair selected goto the Parameters tab

You have translate and scale sliders for the hair
You will need to scale the hair up for most G8 characters (I start at 103% or so)
Slide and scale the hair so that it looks right and is positioned correctly

In order to position a G9 hair correctly you'll probably need to change the 'Nudge' setting
All the G9 comes with the Nudge setting to high by default
Each slider has it's own parameters you can change and 'Nudge' is one of them

8 - Once you have your hair scaled and in place where you want it, now you parent it (NOT Fit it)
Click on the Hair and right click on Change "item item item" Parent

9 Select G8's head in the menu that pops up

Your G9 hair is now it's own entity in the scene and is parented to the G8 character, so it shows up where it is parented

Since it hasn't been messed with it can be adjusted with it's ordinary sliders

You now have a G9 hair on a G8 character that is fully functional

I have had hairs in the past that don't work well by simple scaling and parenting....but that was back when I was using Poser 10
I suspect that most G9 hairs should work well for this
I currently use this method to put V4 hair that does not convert well to G8 on G8 characters
I hope this helps
