Searching for a 3d generalist for a paid tutorship (CLOSED)
1,114Hi guys... I learn 3D for 2 years now in my leisure time and I think I've already made some progress. Now I've quited my (unsatisfying) job and want to use the free time to focus on learning more about 3d. Therefore I am looking for an experienced 3d generalist who can mentor me on this journey. Going through YT videos, forums and discord servers to learn or to describe a problem and waiting for the answer - this way is very time consuming. So my idea is to find someone who has much more (professional) experience with all that and who I can directly answer my questions and who guides me somehow to accelerate the learning progress.
About me: I've worked as a lead webdeveloper for years now (so even Photoshop / Gimp is new to me  ) and I've worked with following tools: Blender (modelling / scultping basics, shader editor, little bit of animation, rendering with Cycles), Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer, now I use DazStudio very much (character creation, posing, scene creation, rendering). At the moment I am not sure which direction in 3d I want to go as I am still facing too many problems when I want to create one of my ideas. I am experimenting with adult gay scenes and therefore want to focus on clothing, character creation, compositing, posing, lighting, texturing and things like that but many images I like are environments or abstract 3d art which I would like to do as well... you see I am still searching for basically everything :innocent:
About the searched mentor: I am looking for a generalist with good experience with Blender, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter and maybe DazStudio (last tool is not necessary). My idea is to meet once or twice a week online and discuss my questions but I am open on how to organize that. Please let me know how you would do that and what your prices are. I am looking forward to learning from you!

I'm like you, I learned 3D on my own. I was also a trainer for a few months during my career. I'm not convinced that it's a good idea to want to learn 3 or 4 software programs at once.
If I understood your message correctly, you do not yet have a precise idea in the hierarchy of what you want to explore in 3D.
It might be interesting for you to put in your gallery one or more images of what you have already done with the software you want to improve your skills in, this will help a mentor to understand your level and make the decision to help you.
I agree with you on one point, the tutorials on YouTube rarely allow you to progress quickly, the images are often too small to see which menu and submenu you have to click on to do the action and the author rarely takes the time to express it or write it

Hi Dissendior
I am a 3d generalist and I will be willing to help you fast track your journey as a 3d artist.
I noticed you mentioned clothing, environment and abstract art creation. These are my area of expertise, I use blender as my native software to create cloths and export to daz studio to apply dforce and pose. I use blender geometry nodes to create abstract art / motion graphics and blender to create environments with the help of useful vegetation add-ons I can share with you to create nice scenes.
We can talk more privately on what your interests are so I can create a curriculum for you to learn and I can advice you on what direction to take on your journey.
