Reality Render for Daz studio (CLOSED)
241I know that Reality render engine is outdated long time ago, but may be anyone have compiled version for PCs based on Intel Xeon E5 with Nvidia GTX 1060 or haves an idea to make it work on more than 2 cores?
Thanks in advance!)

The creator EOL'd the software years ago

I do not see what advantage would it offer over Iray which has shader/material support from ALL of the Daz content creators.

Wed, Oct 18, 2023Reality is just a bridge to LuxRender, a standalone engine.
I can think of two advantages to using Lux over Iray right off the top of my head. Lux works with ATI cards, whereas Iray works only with nVidia cards. Lux is also faster, on par with Octane.
Ok there's actually a third advantage. Since Lux is standalone, you can render without having Studio open. You can also network render with it. I've done network rendering, using a Windows machine and a Linux machine. It's pretty easy to set up.

You could try to compile the code and make a plugin yourself:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/reality-plugin/
But it's not going to have any support from any vendors. When he sold the plugin at DAZ, he tried to get PAs to pay HIM for support of his product. So we stopped supporting it and then iray came along and that was that. But the speed wasn't that much faster than CPU iray; when I used the luxrender plugin, I had to rent server space from Amazon to render promos for myself and other PAs.

Another option would be to bridge to Blender using a plugin, and render in Eevee or Cycles. I've found both to be a lot faster than Iray. Of course you'd have to tweak shaders, but since you are already familiar with Reality, that should be cake for you.

I just found another option. It's called yaluxplug, works with LuxCoreRender 2.5
