Nocturnal Citadel: Prophecy (CLOSED) (CLOSED)

Here is my 2nd entry for the winter fantasy contest.

Story:
This render follows the same storyline as my previous entry but depicts the wizards' library as he left it as soon as he read his prophecy of taking the citadel's power for himself.

Workflow:
The main book:
Pages are created in Photoshop by masking the shapes, text, and image over an old page texture. The sheets of paper were added to blender with the "images as planes" addon and beveled in the middle seam.

Fireplace and bookshelves:
both modified premade models with an added snow pile and snow texture.

Table:
A cloth simulation on a modeled table textured in substance.

Books on the ground:
copied and pasted books with a rigid body modifier.

Background:
see previous entry "mountain" section.

Fire:
Quick smoke Mantaflow simulation.

Programs used:
Blender, Photoshop, Adobe Substance

Thumbnail:

Good usage of fireplace light which gives an antique and vintage feeling for the overall design of the library. 
And this follows up the storyline of first themed Citadel.

I like that book draws you in with the light on it. Nice effect of the snow coming through the window.

Looks like the wizard left in a hurry, he left his window open.
