The Wizard's Tower II (CLOSED)

"Go to the Wizard's Tower, they said. Get the Fire Shard, they said. It'll be easy, they said. There hasn't been a dragon sighting for centuries!"

This is my second submission to the Dragon Lore contest.
This one is a little closer to my original concept with the three elves walking into the cavern with the sleeping dragons. The original has a lower camera angle and the elves off to the left of the screen. Sadly, it is not yet rendered.
After the massive headache of getting the first one rendered out and rapidly running out of time, I tried rendering this one at 2400px instead of my usual 4800px. It rendered a bit faster, but I had less wriggle room with hiding the worst of the noise by scaling it down.
Thankfully, the noise isn't too bad and even a little scaling of the image managed to help lessen it. There's not much you can do when you've exceeded the memory limitations of your PC. Perhaps if I had more time, I might have found ways of breaking the scene up further to enable the Denoiser to kick in, but the important thing was getting it out.
Overall, despite the memory headaches and the nightmare it was to get this rendered out, I'm really proud of what I've managed to create. I'm also very happy that, the concept I had when I first began this project actually materialised on the screen. It's rare that mental image of something and what ends up on the screen match up!
Thank you for looking.
Good luck to the other contestants!
