Hi! and some some Questions about selling (CLOSED)

Hi, I am new here and hoping to sell some models soon. I had some questions I wanted to ask to make sure I provide the right information with my models.
1. If I am providing models with more than one level of detail (Or multiple models in one pack), what do I enter for the Polygons and Vertices count?
2. If I am providing multiple models (in this case, four versions of a Dice). For the blend file, should I include all the models in one blend file, or create a separate blend file for each object?
3. What is considered as "Game Ready"? Googling this, it seems quite vague. Is it poly count, type of polys (quads, tris etc), includes textures?
4. What is considered PBR? For example, the Blend file that I will be providing for these Dice have materials that are Principled BSDF shaders with Subsurface scattering and transmission with correct IOR. But the obj's and fbx's are just basic materials after export. Would this be considered PBR? Or is it only PBR if I include texture to drive metalness, roughness, normal etc?
5. For the obj and fbx files I was going to provide a file for each level of applied subdivision: a Low poly file, a Medium poly file and a High Poly file. Is this a good idea or should I just provide the lowest poly version and let the buyer subdivide it further if they want to?
6. If you are providing a model that can be multiple levels of detail, what category does it go in, low/mid/hi Poly?
7. Is there any guide or etiquette as to the best way to layout the Zip file/ directory structure?
Thanks for any help or feedback. The questions are probably very basic and maybe obvious, sorry for that, but I just want to avoid doing anything stupid or making any obvious mistakes as I try to start selling.

Thanks for your interest in becoming a vendor at RenderHub!
1. It's best to enter the information for the model with the highest count.
Then, in your description, you should list the specific details. The customers will appreciate that.
2. That would be up to you, and what you think would be most convenient for your customers.
Perhaps you could start a separate forum thread that's targeted toward customers.
It would be interesting to hear what they prefer.
3. This generally means a lower-poly triangulated model with optimized textures to provide the best performance in a game engine.
The model should also be as "ready to go" as possible, so the customer doesn't have to mess around with things.
Most customers will complain if the product is not organized well, so keep that in mind, too.
We have a blog writer who has experience with creating game-ready assets.
Perhaps you can find some useful information or inspiration here:
https://www.renderhub.com/blog/
4. There's a great article here:
https://www.renderhub.com/blog/mastering-pbr-texturing-unveiling-the-secrets-of-realistic-3d-rendering
5. I frequently see vendors provide separate files, and I think the customers appreciate that.
6. If you're including multiple variations, the category the product ends up in is determined by the values you enter from question #1.
Some vendors offer completely separate products for high-poly and low-poly versions. It is completely acceptable to do it that way.
For example:
https://www.renderhub.com/squir/lamborghini-huracan-sterrato-2024
https://www.renderhub.com/squir/lamborghini-huracan-sterrato-2024-low-poly
7. Customers very much appreciate products that are organized well, but there isn't a standard that works for every situation.
Including separate folders for each file type is highly recommended.
And logically name your files, so the customer can easily understand what is what.
-----
No, your questions are not basic. These are important things to consider if you want to be successful.
It's especially important if you want to earn repeat customers. They'll come back to you if they have a good experience with your products.
I'm going to send our blog writer a link to this thread. Perhaps he could write an article that's way better than me trying to explain things.
Good luck, and welcome to RenderHub!

I had another couple of questions, this time about Bundles.
1. Is it possible to have a custom 360 video for the bundle or does it just randomly pick a video from one of the included assets?
2. What does the file look like for a customer who purchases a bundle? Do they get the individual .zip files from the assets, or are the assets combined together in new .zip file?
3. I created a bundle of three items before I realized that one of the items included had an incorrect preview image. I updated the image on the original asset fine, but the bundle has not changed, it still has the original wrong image. Is it possible to update this or will it update eventually?
The item is the Beach_Rake, and the image is "Low Poly Sub Surf 1". There are two of these when there should be just one and a "Medium Poly Sub Surf 2" image instead. If I should contact Support to get this fixed that's fine, it's not an urgent issue or even that big of a problem.
Thanks for any info!

Tue, May 07, 20241. Unfortunately, the system is not set up to accept unique videos for bundles.
As you may have noticed, if there are multiple products in the bundle with videos, the system will display a random video on each page load.
I do already have a feature request in for more bundle page customization, including this.
Hopefully, the coders might be able to add that sometime.
2. When a customer purchases a bundle, they will receive a separate download link for each product in the bundle.
On the customer's end, it will function as if they had purchased each product separately.
If one product in a bundle is updated, the customer only needs to download that product and not the entire bundle again.
In addition, they will be able to review each product in a bundle separately, rather than review the bundle as a whole.
3. On my end, I see the image update has carried through to the bundle.
If you don't see it yet, you should be able to force an update by pressing CTRL + F5 on your keyboard (on the bundle page).
Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be happy to help as much as I can.

Thu, May 09, 2024Right, so a separate video for the bundle is not possible. But... If you have a bundle and make a video for it, is it permissible to use that bundle's video on each item in the bundle, as a way to showcase the item itself and everything it can come with, kind of as an advanced promo?

Thu, May 09, 2024@protosynthetic - I guess I could say it is "permissible" to do it that way.
However, to avoid misleading or confusing customers, I would make sure the video is clear about what is included in each product.

Thanks for the assistance, that's all fine. Ctrl F5 worked too.
Cheers!
