GAINS! Checking out the progress so far! (CLOSED)

Here's my entry…
First a shout-out to HDRI Haven, which this image was the inspiration of!

This is the wireframe proof.

This was a bitch to make, as I had to build a set with primitives with the iray mat display settings matching the scene using a 35 mm cam, so it's pretty much not uniform, as it has been fitted to match the HDRI itself, so I had to make sure the individual primitives were still in a comparable position in world space so that the walls, mirror and other props were not located miles apart from each other, I debated whether to go the simpler route and use layers in Affinity photo in order to get the same effect, but as always I make my scenes for both still images, and animated ones by habit, so, I took the harder route!
This is the original, finished render using G8.1 and G9, (Bonus points for those that can tell which is which!) no post-work was done on this image, as it was rendered in the program itself, as I want to squeeze every ounce of potential from the program…

This is the final image flipped with Chromatic Aberration and clarity added, so yeah, I'm breaking my own rule a bit here as the original HDRI has slight CA, so I added CA, the clarity is used to further place the characters into the scene and give them more solidity in their forms.

Thanks for viewing, and here's to every entry finding recognition for their efforts!
Oh, and this forum needs an edit function, as I had to delete my first post in order to edit it!
NOTE: jamie6 no thumbnail adjustment required, as I deleted and re-posted my entry!

Lookin' spiffy (if that's even how you spell that),
I love the detail with the tan, it adds more realism to the character.
Best of luck!

Thu, Jun 20, 2024Thanks, I'll be happy with just some recognition, but an honourable mention would be more than enough for me!
