Headlamp Blocker (CLOSED)
132I'm working with a scene that I actually need my Camera's Headlamp to be on. However, the apartment model that I'm using for whatever reason seems to not allow a camera's headlamp to be functional.
I've already selected the camera and manually turned the headlamp on, leaving the intensity at the default value of 1.
I've looked through the assets in the Apartment model for a headlamp blocker, but there doesn't seem to be one I can remove.
Nothing I do will allow for me to utilize the headlamp. The scene stays the same with it on, or off, with the intensity set at 1 or 100.
I know I can add additional points of light or spot lights, I'm just trying to figure out how to solve this issue, if anyone has any ideas.
Cheers

I never use the headlamp, so I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. But you might want to check to see if this is set to "never".

Wed, Sep 18, 2024Thanks for your reply Foxy. I don't use them either so I'm in the dark on this issue. I do have the auto set to "When No Scene Lights", I also have that overridden on the camera, switching the "auto" to "on". That's about the extent of my knowledge of headlamp usage. lol Thanks anyway.

Wed, Sep 18, 2024"...in the dark on this issue..." - Yeah, for real.
Just a thought... Maybe you could try turning off various parts of the environment to see if the headlight comes on.
That could at least narrow down where the culprit might be hidden.

Wed, Sep 18, 2024I thought about it, but there are so many parts to this environment that it would just take forever. Great idea though. I'm rendering a comic series and not a single image, so I'm trying to use the headlamp to cut render times down and color correct the image in Light Room. I just built my own headlamp and attached it to the camera. It actually works pretty well. My camera now has a three-point ghost light rig attached to it. Though curiosity is still driving me to figure out why this is happening. Being that it's Daz, I'd bet it's a software glitch.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Wed, Sep 18, 2024I don't know much about headlamps, but would a ghost light help?

Thu, Sep 19, 2024Yes, that's what I commented above. I just attached a 3 point ghost light rig to my camera. More work than I wanted to do for a camera, but it sorta works. Thanks
Is it possible your camera is clipping a object or wall and the light is being blocked?

Thu, Sep 19, 2024It's not being blocked by any objects in the scene. I made sure to hide the scene completely to test the issue and still nothing. That's why I'm just thinking it's a glitch. I only need the lamp for this series of 200 images, then I'll turn it back off and never use it again. I'm actually toying with the idea of completely scraping this project and starting over with a new scene. The render times are approaching 3 hours, and I spend 600 hours waiting for these images to render. lol

Thu, Sep 19, 2024This is the problem of Nvidia renderings, the result is very nice but they last a long time. The rendering filament + Viewport when you change the ISO parameter gives good result, is very fast but adieu the light and shadows

Sat, Sep 21, 2024I ended up gaining access to the headlamp after deleting both the Tone Mapping and the Environment settings. I found it by accident when I was changing the exterior of the scene to moon lite coming through the blinds. I don't know what was set in those settings that was blocking the headlamp, but it solved the issue.
