Did you migrate from Daz to another product?
135I am looking at iClone and Blender; but feel free to share your thoughts on migrating to any product.
If you were making this move all over again, what would you tell yourself to do?
What are your hints and hacks: file organization, specific sales, machine optimization, or complementary products?
What are some real expectations for a typical Daz hobbyist moving to your preferred product in terms of learning curve and product library reuse?
Thank you for reading and thank you for sharing your experiences.

Yeah, I do most things in blender. Diffeomorphic solved the problem I had with getting daz people in fast, I already used to do modelling and such in blender before diffeomorphic. I used to render in iray with daz studio when I needed people, not anymore. I dress and pose people in daz, then move over to blender. I have an addon that was a decent price called turbotools. With that one addon, cycles iray renders out of the water in speed. Without it cycles is a little faster, turbotools was like magic for me though lol. Like something that would used to take up to an hour to render is done in minutes. All the other addons available for blender is legion. A lot of them are not needed, but make certain tasks easier.

That was supposed to say cycles blows iray renders out of the water in speed, for clarity.

Thu, Oct 24, 2024Aside from render speed, have you found any other advantages to using blender over daz? The way I was treated for my comments about their new subscription makes me want to migrate but not if I'm going to drive myself crazy doing basic things.

Thu, Oct 24, 2024These are the links I found for the products mentioned:
https://diffeomorphic.blogspot.com
https://blendermarket.com/products/turbo-tools-v3---turbo-render-turbo-comp-temporal-stabilizer
I hadn't thought of preparing people in Daz and finishing up in Blender..
I have to admit, the idea of totally migrating is appealing; but I have a large library of Daz stuff.. so (at least in the beginning) I'd like to keep some of my assets. The Daz importer tool you mentioned would definitely help do just that. Thank you!

Thu, Oct 24, 2024You can even do the posing in blender, but I usually just do it in DS, since I am just used to it and haven't had the time to learn how it works in blender just yet. You got the right links, I should have linked them to make it easy in case people are interested lol. Diffeo is actively squashing bugs as they are found still, unlike the halfassed one made by daz. Thomas is a hell of a developer, and there are a few other very capable people that chip in too.
