Hi, I'm very happy to show you my original character.
The concept is based on the Dynastinae, or simply the rhinoceros beetle.
The Dynastinae Tank are creatures that have lived in forests for thousands of years, hence their woody appearance. Crystals protrude from their bodies, creating horns and saws that destroy their enemies. As a wild creature, they don't have much technology, but as a way to get around this, they use parts of their bodies and the bodies of other members of their species that have already died.
In this concept, the character carries a crystal as if it were a giant club. In the other hand, a shield made from part of his broken shell. Embedded in it, several crystals that offer an extra form of attack.
Along their bodies, you can see some ancient inscriptions, probably from some race of elves that lived long ago in the same habitat. Another detail on the character is the shackles on his feet, which suggests that this specimen was once imprisoned by greedy dwarves.
On my moodboard, I gathered a series of references.
From there, I sculpted the character in ZBrush, retopologized it in Blender and textured it in Substance Painter. I went back to Blender for some simple rigging and finally, the rendering.
I hope you like it.
