Hello, my name is Heesoo. I'm excited to share my character design project for the RenderHub Character Design Contest! emote
I'd like to introduce my character LUMINA. She's an advanced android who explores Earth in a post-nuclear war era, where nature has reclaimed and transformed urban ruins. Originally designed to assist with Earth's restoration, she now follows her curiosity after humanity's extinction - documenting and studying the new forms of life emerging in this transformed world. I've been developing her design and story to bring this unique world to life.

I've been working on this world-building project, sketching characters and designing them to fit the story.

- Wire-constructed hair (PVC/metal combination)
- Transparent materials revealing internal neon mechanisms
- Bioluminescent Interior Features:
* Glowing inner eyelids and mouth cavity
* Cybernetic circuit patterns visible through translucent layers
* Color-shifting effects responding to emotional states
* Pulsing patterns during data collection
* Intensity variations based on environmental analysis
* Cyan base glow with pink/lime accent pulses
- Holographic projection eyes
- Mixed natural/artificial necklace design

character has a great foundation, hoever the contest rules states it must be a full body character, do you have a plan for the mid and lower half of the character

Tue, Oct 29, 2024Hi Mikepothesis, thank you. Yes, I actually designed a complete game-ready low-poly full body character. However, due to time constraints, I could only render the head portion for now. I decided to focus on the head details to showcase the character's key features

LUMINA carries a specialized backpack designed for collecting and preserving specimens of newly discovered lifeforms during her exploration

- I designed the baby creature with characteristics of both an embryo and an evolving dinosaur. It floats suspended in a transparent liquid.
- Parts of the legs are also translucent, revealing luminescent particles glowing from within.
I wanted to add interesting details in every part that make it fun to look at

For the hair (tube wires), I used XGen in Maya and exported them as both a groom and polygon.

I worked on this while imagining a dystopian Earth in ruins, but to this android, it's just a place full of curiosity. I have many aspects I'm personally not satisfied with, so I plan to continue working on it.
