Virna Lisi

Hello RenderHub!
My name is Alexey Shtylyov (Ingvar Vaegirson) and I want to introduce you to my character that I made for this contest.
The main idea was to show something simple, but at the same time so that it would relax the eye and the viewer would get a pleasant feeling from the non-aggressiveness but from the softness of shapes and colors. I did all the work in ZBrush, using the simplest and most basic brushes and tools within the program. Thinking about the character, I remembered that I once saved a beautiful photo of the face of the Italian Actress Virna Lisi, and decided to make a full-length character based on her image. First of all, I began to sculpt the face to catch the general feeling of facial aesthetics for modeling and smoothly move on to the whole body to A pose, and then give it a lively pose using Transpose Master. I had to pay a lot of attention to her look, because it is quite interesting and conveys a mysterious feeling. I spent a lot of time working on the hair so that it looked interesting enough, relative to the thickness of the curls and felt the play of shapes.
Thinking about the design of the clothes, I wanted to show something simple, not straining the eye, to emphasize her look and not distract from her face. For the choice of color, I decided to support the direction of the main concept and stick to soft shades so that it fits into the overall design and fits well and supports the emotion on the face, and the whole character ultimately looked holistic.
After posing her, I did a render in ZBrush using Render Pass with different light sources and then collecting them in Photoshop.
When I made the main render, I had an idea to liven up the final render a little and give it life, some movement. For this, I decided to use After Effect and add the effect of flying particles there.
To give the scene some volume, a depth map with the Frishluft plugin was used, I think this is the best plugin for getting a beautiful depth of field in after effects. With the help of the Stardust plugin, particles were added to the background and foreground. It was the particles that added a lively atmosphere to the frame, and it is very convenient to configure particles with the stardust node architecture. Glow effects were added to the background, which enhanced the visual accent, a simple technique, we take the layer of the main character, in this case a girl, throw it into the background and blur it quite strongly, we control the intensity using opacity.
After completing all the main effects, the final color correction was carried out to add contrast and improve the overall appearance of the scene! In general, when choosing the design of the particles, I adhered to the main idea, as before, to give the image lightness and tenderness and glamor. It was very interesting and exciting. Working on your own character always brings a lot of pleasure. I hope you like it!
