Sun, Nov 17, 2024Thank you very much. I did not know people will notice me around. But I was hoping to make some friends and colleges around.
I’m not sure if the Post work on Photoshop like adding snow particles is allowed or not ? Any Admins around ?

Sun, Nov 17, 2024Post-work in Photoshop or other software is allowed, but the original render must be done in 3D software

WIP
I never sculpted an animal or a dragon before. Also I could not find a good free dragon for my scene so I decided to sculpt it myself.

Thu, Dec 05, 2024Red, In addition to your last render image, you can use this scene with your custom dragon. With all the castles, trees, and birds, the backdrop depth in this scene is significantly enhanced. You may simply insert your finalized dragon in this scene because he is posing with his hand on the dragon's head. It would be unjust, not to include this scene given how much work you've done with the background. You might post this as a separate render. I appreciated your excellent work. My best wishes!

Thu, Dec 05, 2024Hey Dr.Jivago
I actually had to remake this scene and made entire new one on Blender because of the reason
1: Unreal Engine path tracing: I had problems with it my graphic card just could not handle it. Instead I used Unreal Engines Lumen and made a 4K render but the result was not that good. When I zoomed in it was too pixelated. Lumen is an alternative for a Ray Tracing, it’s good for games when it comes to good graphics and good FPS. But for a still image Path tracing is better.
2: Re-Making the whole scene of the background and the snow on blender- This beautiful scene you see on this image is an assets from Unreal Engine which was hard and time consuming for me to transfer them to Blender.
But I have this image with the dragon which I will post as a gallery image tomorrow.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback and suggestion.

First time ever using Substance Painter. I got 6 month subscription. This is a inbuilt renderer. Nothing fancy. Just a first try of texturing a dragon

Creating your own dragon instead of just using an existing one brings your contribution to this contest to a different level.
This looks good. Hope you learn a lot in the process, and looking forward to the results.

Yeah for me it’s not just about the contest but about the idea, work, process and learning new things.

Actually I think Im finished with the final touch and postwork. Its 38MB - its not uploading. My internet sucks and also my Graphic card sucks haha. Hoping to get a new one when I win something!

Awesome work on the modeling Red, I like the little details of snow on the dragon.
The faded look in the background to give it depth. There's a story to be told here.
Nicely Done

Thu, Dec 05, 2024Thanks brother. I haven’t really checked all the entries- I believe you are participating too.. Same, Wish you luck!

Work in Progress- Did this on Unreal Engine but the hair somehow disappeared and the quality was not so good so i decided NOT to go with this one

Sat, Dec 07, 2024This doesn't look bad at all. You could use more brightness on this one as to emphasize the snow. The color tone in your previous pictures could be applied to this one too. Background would stand out more, and the birds on top of the mountains may become more visible perhaps with a lighter color.

Sun, Dec 08, 2024Yes. Some work could be done. The background here of course looks fantastic. But oh well maybe next time I will use this scene. Thank you.
Or maybe I can make a new entry with this scene idk I will think about it
