Erin - Portrait
3D Render by RenderFemBonus SFW portrait of Erin I did for my Daz gallery (dilly vaginaphobes they are) uploaded here for giggles.
Still a bit unwell, and still waiting for a version of a Venice image I am happy with.

Agreed and trust you're on the mend ...
Eye thing is there (earlier works - as we discussed/understood) - however the blur effect is fantastic.
On the theme (yours - interesting to look again after measured critique) ... following are offered as illustrations (PP). ~R.

I'll run off shortly and write some new frames. Old days had a heap. I could (may later) go in separately to reduce the screen glare/light, to make it proportional to the other light sources. I did take it down quite a bit, but could only go so far as the limit before impacting on other key (important) aspect of the overall image.
So - serious clipping on the white band, added black band. Balanced (compensated to keep balance) on the pallet brightness. Serious weight on blue band, reduced red and slight balance on green band, to give the twins true chestnut hair. Then trademark - added texture.
Why - part of it is for authenticity to ASA400/200/100 (portrait type specific); however it is also because any resizing and image remapping (especially jpg) has detail loss. Something special if you grab one of my PP's is that if you check the J-Peg compression, you will see it is 0 =/- 0.05% (not compressed); whereas renders and most program defaults 25% sacrificed for 75% quality post compression.
I prefer to resize and remap in Lacos.
Thus pre-processing I need to enhance detail by either 2.4 or 3.3% .... then do my post-processing work and save (zero compression), followed by a final/further 2.4 or 3.3% detail enhancement ... at the end of which I have my correct texture detail. For some reason (does not make sense in programming code - so stuffed if I know why* & wisest friends do not know either) - the best result is obtained where the first detailing ratio is exactly the same as the second. In theory it should not be so, after lacos and remapping - however it is.
[*: Have a suspicion might be limitations within the jpg standard, so need do a replication exercise where all images are in JP2. If correct - under JP2 - the pre and post ratio will be free/not mutually linked/dependant. ~ Something to look at in 2021 maybe.]

As mentioned (Deviant) these exercises are about teaching others - through explanation and illustration - so they increase their rendering and presentation options.
Stay safe (work and Christmas organization allowing) and get well soon,
Cheers,
Rick.
