3D Render by bisonraviAnother fantasy in a post-apocalyptic world...
This is fabulous. Do you make your environments in Blender or is this one from Ultrascenery?

Fri, Jul 07, 2023Thank you.
The environments in my pictures are all done with UltraScenery (and UltraScenery XT too). I don't know how to use Blender... (shame on me)
But since I'm using UltraScenery, I have learned how to go beyond the basic landscapes they provide with the product to create more original landscapes (terrains, ecologies).

Fri, Jul 07, 2023I don't know how to use Blender either! LOL I haven't had much luck with Ultrascenery either. I did get a video on how to use it so maybe that will help me. Your environments give me inspiration and hope that I will be able to get something to work in Daz. Because I just don't seem to have the motivation to learn Blender! LOL
Some hints to progress with UltraScenery:
1) You must have Accelerator for UltraScenery (https://www.daz3d.com/accelerator-for-ultrascenery) too or the generation is soooo slow you get bored using it!
2) Get as many ecologies (add-on products) you can buy as they help in creating your own environment. Give a priority to Howie Farkes products as he is the original creator of UltraScenery and his models are a bit better!
3) When you have created a landscape that is not fully convenient for what you want, you can relaunch UltraScenery after having selected the component in the scene and you can modify it and regenrerate it.
4) After having generated a landscape, I use a trick: I create a subgroup under the landscape and I place every item of vegetation that have a large number of occurences (grass, etc.) and I hide that group. I put the Max Time (sec.) in the Render Settings/Progressive Rendering to 10s so I can view my scene with IRay in the main viewport keeping a responsive DAZ Studio. It helps a lot to place other components and the lighting of the scene. Ofc unhide the group before a test or final rendering.
5) Practice and... pratice again!

Fri, Sep 01, 2023Thank you. Don't hesitate to start using US. As all excellent tools, it takes some time to get used with it, but this time is really worth spending it. The product is well conceived, not too consuming of resources and it produces very convincing landscapes. Some years ago, I was always envious of what people could produce with the Vue software. Now, I am really satisfied with what I can create with US.
