Eleanor Close Up
3D Render by kssamA close up of TX Teen Eleanor by Tri-X. So much detail in her face. Such a beautiful model.
I love her freckles! However, depending on the lights setup, you can try lowering the normal and displacement strength, to make her skin look smoother. Play a little with the surface tab. Glad to know you're enjoying!

Fri, Feb 02, 2024I like that she has so much surface detail. That's part of what makes her so easy for me to work with. When I shape and add my smiles in PS, I tend to lose much of that detail through my workflow. Starting with so much will ensure that she still has great detail after, and not a smooth, plastic look. However, it is very strong in this image, you're right. It was getting late and I chose to skip an hour of post.

Fri, Feb 02, 2024That's interesting, what are your main goals with your renders? It's always good to know what the artists need for future products.

Fri, Feb 02, 2024It's tough to say with me as I'm only in this for something to do with my spare time.
For the majority of my renders, I use them to illustrate comics that I write. So for those, I try to find the most lifelike/photorealistic image I can get, with the least amount of render time. Figures that are easy on the GPU, but don't turn out like plastic skinned Barbie Dolls. For those I tend to purchase a lower quality figure with little to no displacement, then remake the skin using either Skin Builder 8, or Perfectly imperfect skin. Those will give me those subtle imperfections that fool the brain into believing an image is a photo, and not a 3D render.
I also like to take a break and see just how lifelike I can push Daz. I do this for both fun, and to force myself to continue learning new features and tricks. So for those images, I tend to look for a model that is cute, but far from perfect. Much like Eleanor.
I'm not sure if that answered your question or not. I can go into further detail if you're wanting to know exactly what I'd look for in a model.

Fri, Feb 02, 2024Nice!
All the feedback you can provide is always welcome and will be useful to develop new products, so you can expand your comment all you want.
Also, take a look at Teen Madison's page, several artists posted some crazy good renders of her and will be a good partner for Eleanor.
My next character will be based on a real person, so a lot of imperfections, like asymmetrical face, natural nose and 2 skin tones. Will be good for artists looking for "the girl next door", with a natural shape and details that will make her look more realistic. So hope you like her. There's a preview in my gallery, but I hope she hits the store next week.
About renders, a little trick you can try is to play with the DOF and lens size. That would make your renders to look like a real portrait. If you wanna go even further, try chromatic aberration filters, LUT and a subtle vignette.
Happy renders!

Fri, Feb 02, 2024See, those are ideas I didn't even know was possible. I only dabble as a hobby to keep myself out of trouble. One feature that I don't see very often are crows feet near the eyes. I know the stigma is wrinkles are bad, but it's those imperfections that draws me to purchase a model. With Eleanor, it was the rosacea on her face. Also the acne options are fantastic too. She also has a face that reminds me of someone I went to school with many years ago. I'll look up what DOF is and educate myself on how to play around with the lens. I've used those filters in the past in LR and have gotten fantastic results. They have a way of pulling out so much hidden detail and color in an image. Thanks again for everything and I'll keep a look out for your new model. Madison is actually next on my list. I was actually holding off because I can't find the difference between Teen Madison and Madison. I like the previews of both.
Amazing render. She looks so real! I love the colors in the lighting.

Fri, Feb 02, 2024Thanks pops. You should consider buying this model. She would be a good one to help improve your renders. Speaking of, I've only seen the one posted from you that I had to twist your arm to post. Give us some more.

Fri, Feb 02, 2024That's all Tri-X. I added nothing to this render except the lighting. Wonderful model.
