Both characters shown were built using no shape or morph but Raoul's.

You're killing it! Jonas has that otherworldliness I've observed in those who have drunk deeply from the nonbinary well. Ernst looks like what Steve Jobs would've become if he had continued, and Raoul could be the leader of the local chapter of the cartel or the owner of the next mayor of L.A. (sorry for the redundancy). Yet I've chosen to make him the heavy with a heart of gold. But his first role for me will be as a construction worker at lunch who, along with his mates, has been so demoralized by pervasive feminazism that they dare not ogle the primo specimen sashaying past.
I'm hoping you will stay amused with male character creation, because you have a unique gift in Daztopia: Maxxing out personality while avoiding caricature or toonishness. With the exception of Jonas, I've stuck with your choices on demo skins; thanks for usually giving us three. Shine on.

Xyer, my man... thanks for the support. Most kind words.
...that's some background you gave 'em xD
I'll be working on my first full (mats & all) character for the rest of the month. A female character.
But I'll keep baking male morphs (and maybe also a character, we'll see how this goes), sure.
I wanted to make a set of three for now, and Raoul is the last.
Jonas... did not sell well. Unfortunately.
I'm not sure I have drunk from those waters,, but I did enjoy sculpting an androgynous character on a male figure. I'm happy with how they turned out.
(I don't really give a fuck about labels and politics, but I do fancy varied forms and shapes in all non-furry beings)
As a matter of fact, I enjoyed all three of them. I am more used to sculpt ladies, but I had fun with these lads.
I have a few tweaks to make on Raoul's shape. Hopefully I'll have it done & shipped later today.
Anyway, thanks again. See you around.

Thanks for Raoul update. Jonas' body is so unique; it's a pity more people didn't want this variety. If you can multitask, I'd love to get more of your males when you make them because distinct males are always needed. I have to be very finicky about G8 females because of the morph bloat / exponential load times that nobody knew existed until a Genesis generation ran as long as V4 (for which you had to choose which morphs you were going to use BEFORE loading). But I'll keep an eye out.
Your work is very exciting, and after it took me so long to dial morph my main characters, I'm so happy to just load the supporting characters and add your prescribed accoutrements. Thank you!

Thu, May 23, 2024Exponential load times? What do you mean?
Never heard of that.
My G8F figures hardly take more than 30 minutes to load.
I choose what to use w/ my shapes very carefully. Happy to hear that, xyero.

Core Figure Pro Bundles formerly included 2 other characters based on that figure, and an additional 4 or 5 characters based on that morph would be released at the same time. It wasn't uncommon to buy most of these characters on release because of the huge stacking discounts. Three or four years ago, I'd bought and installed over 700 (if not even more) G8/8.1 Females.
In the Daz forums, many of us began to complain about load times exceeding 30 minutes. Mind you, prior to G8, the longest generation life was two years; so, we never had time to buy that many characters. Any G3F I have loads in less than 5 minutes; G3M, less than 3. Plus, Genesis 3 only had 33 Core Figures total (female AND male) released in its two years. But G8 had 93, and G8.1 added another 41. Daz obviously learned what their staple product was.
Thirty minutes is unacceptable to load a figure, and it was unheard of before G8. Each time you load a G8.1F, every G8F morph you have installed has to load a placeholder so you can access that morph IF you want it; hence, the longer load times. Many of the character PAs have dropped out of the business or gone from monthly releases to quarterly releases for G9 because longtime customers aren't buying indiscriminately anymore.
I uninstalled hundreds of G8Fs, and my load time is around 30 minutes. A product called Turbo Loader was released, and it can trim more than half the time off of that, but it has drawbacks too, and I stopped bothering with it. Anyway, that's what I meant by "exponential load times."
I was hoping to switch my two main female characters to G9 for the skin and faster load times, but I have not been able to get the girls to look as distinctive as they do as G8.1s, and I'm using G9 skin on the black G8.1 already.
Thanks again for your work.
