3D Render by maru_berlinFirst attempt creating own bilboards to populate a scene. Worked well until one comes to the point of saving the bilboard for later use, but I think I found a solution for me.
Used some Strangefate clothing (DAZ), HiveWire Big Cat (Rendo) and Britec weaponry (DAZ).

Sat, May 25, 2024Thanks. Still have not quite come with a viable idea of how to get the proportions right and a better mix of people.
Since rendering one png as base for one bilboard doesn't take long I probably just need to make more variations of the same character - which is easy in armies, but bad in other scenes - and maybe I could also make small groups for the far background. Together with flipping them around this should make better scenes, too. But for a first try I agree it's not too bad.

Looks like someone just admitted to the court that they used the last of the sun tan lotion! kidding aside I really like the crispness and rich colors of this image. I've been a Poser user for few years and I've only recently started learning Daz Studio. I'm not familiar with the "DS Billboards" system ... looks like I'll have to do a little investigating. Thanks for demonstrating so effectively what they can do =)

Wed, Aug 07, 2024Don't hesitate to ask questions, you have been cursed with Poser long enough *chuckles*
There are some quite good ready.-made Bildboards (they come with an auto-alingn function as well as with many different angles wich makes posing simple: Now-Crowd products from River Soft Art - Daz Store), there are some tutorials for these.
My render was done with https://www.daz3d.com/billboard-builder , which is a fast and simple way to generate detailed bilboards of your own, however, you need to do the posing first and render them out with the same lighting as in your scene. That's a bit tricky, and if you look closely you see differences in sizes and direction of light, since I rotated some of the bilboards to get "different poses".
