3D Render by ArtbyMelI seldom create images with nudity. Now and again, an image forms in my mind and tasteful nudity fits. Inspired by my love of the woods and all things fantasy. TFL!!

Very nice. The Nagging Hat suggest a few ripples around the foot, but then again...

Thu, Sep 19, 2024Thanks. Yeah, I could see that, but to be honest, I'm still just dabbling in Daz. I was more concerned with the posing and lighting, lol.

Thu, Sep 19, 2024I think you did very well on the atmosphere, and the pose, too.
All it needs is a simple prop (Sickleyield /SY, I think one of the products is https://www.daz3d.com/ripples-and-wakes-iray ) and getting the prop moved and scaled.
If you like, you can ask me about lighting and (enough time given ;D) I could add my 2c of thought.

Thu, Sep 19, 2024I actually have that in my wishlist! But I've bought so much stuff when they run those sales, plus stuff from here and Rendo. Lighting was always my thing with Poser and Vue. I actually made lighting packs for Poser that sold really well on Rendo. I looked at a few tutorials for lighting with DS, so I'm figuring it out. Lighting in DS is very similar to lighting in Vue in some aspects. But I do love playing with light in 3D!

Thu, Sep 19, 2024For the ripples, you don't have to buy a prop and you can simulate it. Here are the steps :
a) Under Daz Studio, you select the polygons around the foot in the water (try to get a square selection) and you affect those polygons to another shader. You copy the shader of the water to this new shader. At this step, you shouldn't notice any difference.
b) Using any 2D drawing tool, you create a map (black and white) with concentric circles to simulate the ripples. You can blur it a bit to generate a bump map. If you want a better effect, you can transform your bitmap to a normal map (https://charles.hollemeersch.net/njob/ - a free tool to do that).
c) You plug your map (bump or normal or both) to the newly created shader to get fake ripples around the foot.
It might look a bit complex but it's easy
