Wild West Ghost Town
3D Render by YemilThis is just one of the many wild west ghost towns creations I have been playing with, mostly for fun and for no serious reason really.
The models have come from a variety of sources, Daz 3D, RenderHub and Sketchfab mostly and some from Cubebrush and other more obscure 3D modelling sites.
I just enjoy creating scenes that don't necessarily need to have characters in them as I think I would suck at that. They are supposed to be ghost towns anyway, so I think it more accurately captures the feel of a ghost town if it is devoid of life but maybe full of ghostly memories that may have existed at that period of history. I was always into old Western movies and TV series and I find that period fascinating. The buildings of the time were often crudely quickly and constructed but they had more character to them as a result. As time passed these old buildings gained even more funkiness.
All of my renders are in Daz Studio as Iray renders. I try to do as little post production with a render as it is more satisfying to get the best render of a scene that I can produce. It does not have to be a perfect render as I think the overall scene is more important and perfect renders are beyond my abilities and take up too much of my time.
When I do any post editing, it is always in Affinity Photo. Occasionally I will add my own textures to a model in 3DCoat if I don't like the existing texture. Ther are also times when I will adapt a model in the very old modelling program Cheetah 3D. I would love to move in Blender but as yet I haven't had the spare time to learn it and I started using Cheetah over ten years ago.

Thu, Mar 06I just introduced a brand new feature to my renders....taste.
I am so pleased you spotted it. I wonder if anyone else will ?
I am presently working on adding on genuine Wild West odors. I 'll be posting that render shortly !
