Tips and Tricks 3D-Digital Painting

These are some tips and tricks that have helped me as a 3d illustrator, to give “realism very simple and very compact for any inexperienced user.
You only need dazstudio and photoshop or Gimp or any image editor. you don't need AI to do it.
I wanted to show my workflow because some people say that “it's impossible
to do that with daz and photoshop!!!", that “only with AI you can do it..aah narrow minds and haters XD .
You just need a little bit of creativity and be happy with what you do.
The female model is genesis 9, Iray engine, some dust brushes by Deviney dazstudio, Mesh by Elianeck, Photoshop and a lot of coffee =)

Sorry, the Daz screenshot is a little too small for me to see. Which shader settings are you referring to in the first image? (Terribly newb question, I know.) Just the "Transmitted Color" or does that include SSS Color and both Measurement Distances for transmit and sss?

The parameter setting is about 5 or 6 dials, very simple, the screenshot shows all complete but there are very few to be set.
The result differs from each skin, there are some very good ones where the result is almost spectacular and others like the one I used intentionally, which is quite “badbut it was shown that the parameter setting can improve it a lot.

Thu, Apr 03, 2025Oh my goodness. Thank you so much! I played with some settings earlier just to see how the skins would react and I'm grateful for the examples. I have some skin textures I enjoy using, but in some cases they're too red or too gray for my needs and now this demonstrates how to overcome that.
I just discovered this tutorial. THANK YOU for sharing your impressive techniques with us. I am excited to see what I can do with it!

Just some of the best work. Amazing!!! I love your workflow, and I agree 100% about what you said to do with AI. You can do amazing work without AI, even much better than AI if you put your mind to it.
