The relit version is the top one? The background and lighting doesn't make any sense at all. The window with the godrays vs. the lit patches on the ground vs. the lighting on the character's shoulders is breaking my brain, your original render looks better to me.

Your comment is appreciated. It may not have turned out as perfect as others. Is it possible that using a different system would have resulted in a better outcome? Possibly, but you always learn from something. My mistake, I suppose, was being overly vigilant about not modifying the character.
