3D Render by MKDAWUSSA product of me just messing about. Something like this would have likely gotten a preliminary "let's see how this looks" render and that probably would have been it. Somehow I stuck through with this one to develop it to where it got to something presentable like this.

Mon, Jun 02On a technical level, yeah. I can't quite do this, but I can fake it by doing this. And then on an immersive level it's wondering what all these buttons actually do. Especially the side buttons and switches. All the key stuff - weapon selection, power (engine, shields, weapons) management, and whatnot all occupy the front for easy access and immediate use, but then there are those things off to the side that just seemingly sit there either to visually look cool and busy and/or have the pilots look cool and busy.

Mon, Jun 02Oh yeah, there's definitely plenty of buttons. I imagine most of the light up buttons to be power management or activation of specific systems switches, while the more keyboard like buttons might be used for more complex operations, like inputting co-ordinates and calculations for lightspeed jumps etc. And obviously on the control yokes themselves primary and secondary weapons systems triggers, and weapon selection switches. Yeah, definitely a lot of buttons to press. ;P

Mon, Jun 02These are things you often don't think about when watching a film or playing a game, but when it comes to something like this, it's something you start to think about.
It's also a nice ship for a Rebel Iden to be flying if she wants to keep a low profile and do some spy missions for the Alliance, where an X-Wing might arouse more suspicion. I could definitely see her flying one of these. Makes for an interesting match.

Mon, Jun 02It also works a bit even for Imperial Iden. The Imperial outfit generates Imperial attention, and depending on the situation, some Imperial fighter isn't available or the best ride to use. Heck, this could follow up on a previous image where that's a getaway ride.

Assuming I had everything I needed, I'd probably drive myself nuts trying to depict an entire action-packed escape, complete with boom-booms and pew-pews. lol
