Quarantine survivor Jessica managed to slip the guards at the Holy Island's gate during the low tide hours and head out onto the mainland to find her lost lover. Born 3 years after the quarantine started, she's adept at scavenging the mainland for lost survivors and hidden supplies. It didn't take her long to slip the nearest Alpha and dodge all the screamers and runners to find him. Thomas... had been infected. As soon as they spotted each other, there was no other reaction but primal instinct. He sprinted towards her. She hesitated for a moment. Aiming at first his heart, and then when close enough she forced herself to end his suffering and begin her own.

All she ever knew was this world. All she will ever know is this world. No one leaves the Quarantine zone. No one.
