The Ripper Vampire
3D Render by Sisu123No gang survives Sylvia, the Ripper Vampire!
Technical Details:
The white wire screenshot shows the Daz3D workspace while the black wire screenshot shows Blender's side.
I primarily used Daz3D for the main character, as it handles hair/skin a bit better. I did not include the environment in the render of Sylvia in Daz, but the environment is a Daz asset. I did three renders of Sylvia in Daz: body render, hair and scarf render, and teeth render. The body render was for lighting purposes, to separate Sylvia from her hair. This is because rim lighting is blocked by objects (hair/scarf) and does not form a light-outline on the body. This body render helps to give depth to the final image. The hair and scarf render are essentially the same render, but with those two things visible. The teeth render involved putting an invisible emissive orb in front of her mouth to light up her face. This allowed her fangs to be visible, as well as the blood dripping from her mouth.
This was especially important, since not being able to see her mouth or blood drips made it hard to tell that she's a vampire. I also added some additional blood fx on her to make it even more evident, which required yet another render! The grounded blood fx are also Daz assets. I then did another render in Blender to add in the victims and the environmental lighting. The Daz render of Sylvia did not involve the grounded blood fx as they needed to be lit in accordance to the environment. Funnily enough, I realized it was possible to repurpose the zombies I used in the previous render, as they look quite human, but macabre/beaten. Due to my previous entry, I had enough experience to blend the five distinct renders together in post quite easily, but it did take some painting and trial and error.
