Waking Up To An Eternity In Hell

My second submission to the Horrific Render Contest 4 (first image).

I wanted to work on a complex scene, heavy in details, and make it challenging to myself. It's the most ambitious image I've worked on so far, quite fun but also very time-consuming. I learned geometry nodes, retopology, and texture baking in the process, and improved my 3D sculpting and material design skills.

Some comments:
-The flying creatures are original and inspired by the beholders (D&D) and the chthonian crawlers (H. P. Lovecraft), sculpted and retopologized in Blender.
-With the exception of human skin, all materials are procedural and made by me in Blender. They were then baked into manageable texture maps.
-The human figures were exported from DAZ to Blender and manipulated there.
