The Holy Critter (Full Body)
3D Render by RebeccaTomasoni“She comes from a race of humans who have gradually transformed into bird-hybrids.
Of course, during this transformation not only has her body changed, but also her mind - she has increasingly lost awareness and clarity.
So why are there Christian elements in her body, such as the Sacred Heart or the Crown of Thorns?
Because this particular being still retains a small spark of consciousness.
During her wanderings she stumbled across a church. Captivated by the beauty of the place, she felt a strong sense of connection and sacredness.
These are concepts alien to her bird side, but they are summoned by that fragment of humanity that still remains in her.
In something like a Stendhal syndrome, she decides to tear open her soft flesh and become the embodiment of that beauty."
What started in ZBrush as a high-poly sculpt was later brought into Maya to build a clean low poly mesh and UVs, mapped across 4 UDIMS. The entire baking and texture process was done in Substance Painter and for the final renders I decided to experiment within Unreal Engine 5.
To bring the character to life, I created a set of blendshapes in Zbrush that I animated in Unreal for the final video renders.
