Help! Missing File after Update to DAZ 4.024.0.4
3D Render by maru_berlinThis may have been better place in a forum, but I hopefully more Daz buffs are looking at my images than browsing a forum....
Lately I get an error on loading G9 (any character), claiming that the file /_temp/002.duf was missing. Since the path is not shown, where would that file live?
It doesn't seem to affect the loading of the character in general, once OK is ticked, the loading continues and the character appears in the viewport. Form the progess in the window behind that error I guess the file belongs somewhere to the face assets.
The only annoying thing about that is if you do something else while te figure is loading, you might miss the message and just get delayed.
Has anybody got an idea?

Sorry, no solution, just a question (and a little info):
First of all, _temp suggests something temporary (this is always the case with my programming, etc.). Did you turn DAZ off again and then restart it before trying it out? Maybe even restart your PC?
I searched my hard drive for a _temp directory and/or a 002.duf file in connection with DAZ. No results
A Google search also yielded nothing (it could have been that others have/had the same problem).
What does the log file say? Help -> Troubleshooting -> View Log File

Fri, Jan 09Thank you.
Yes, temp normally indicates that's a temporary file, but since it hickups every time I load a G9 figure Daz seems to be needing it at some stage. Temporary would also explain why it cannot be found (did the same cross-checks as you did).
And finally, yes, program and machine had been restarted several times... I'll look into the lockfile, but whenever I tried to identify an error there..... Thanks for helping!

inside Daz under Edit Tab.
here is a Preferences Tab.
That opens a popup Window.
inside the General Tab.
There is a Temporary Files Section.
under that is the location of Your Temporary Files.
You can change the location or Clear them from there.

Does this do it with just the G9 figure, Not a character? normally i only run into this issue if i have changed the file path, or when daz does lie maps and mixes two images together, which is annoying and memory waste. of which these are not your issues, i can only assume the new update maybe has cleared the temp folder, i suggest opening it to see if anything is in there, and clearing it if it is empty using the method Radkres has suggested.
