A clarification: the traditional geisha has nothing—absolutely nothing—to do with eroticism. Rather, these women were skilled in the arts of the mind, such as singing, playing music, reciting poetry, and performing tea ceremonies with elegance. Where the geishas usually stopped, the sex workers’ work began. Skilled in the '12 + 20 blissful positions', these women focused more on the physical aspect. In their work, they sometimes wore makeup inspired by geishas.
