They'd escaped the goblins, still caked in the filthy mud of their hideous caves. They moved quickly, following a shallow brown stream for miles, not stopping to clean themselves less the heinous little creatures caught up with them. The rocky landscape of the canyons and caverns the Goblins called home eventually gave way to pine forest and they made their way carefully, thankful for the cooling shade. Eventually, as the sun began to dip towards the horizon they came upon a section of the stream that had cut back into the bank, exposing the roots of the encroaching trees. It was here, exhausted, cold and filthy that they decided to rest. As they curled up together to share warmth the girl quickly drifted into a deep sleep. But something troubled Emilia, a deep foreboding that she couldn't shake which prevented her from the slumber she needed. Something was lurking in these woods, something other than goblins stalked them. It was then she heard the noise of something moving above them...

I found the model of the trees and roots on Sketchfab and knew I had to do something with it. I augmented it with other models in my collection, mainly from Shaaramuse3D and Stonemason. The mud on the girls is AeonSoul, which took me a while to get to look right in C4D, but was really worth the effort I think.
