Light House De Koog - Texel Cocksdorp (Bryce 7 Model) 3D Model
"Light House De Koog - Texel Cocksdorp (Bryce 7 model)"
This is a ready-to-load scene for Bryce 7.1. All shapes are created in basic parts and modeled with the so-called traditional boolean technique.
Background info:
The lighthouse is open to the public. A magnificent view of the North Sea, the Wadden Sea, the island's northern region and Vlieland, which is very close, await those who are brave enough to attempt the 118 steps up to the gallery, 45 meters above sea level. At night, the light from the Texel lighthouse can be seen as far away as Leeuwarden.
The history of the lighthouse:
Texel acquired a lighthouse in 1864, following many years of campaigning by Texel civil-law notary Kikkert. The seas around the island were so dangerous that many ships sank before the lighthouse was finally built, as explained in a tiny exhibition in the lighthouse itself. During the Second World War, the lighthouse was the site of a major part of the action of the Georgian Rebellion, or Russian War; in fact, the bullet holes are still visible in the walls of the tower.
For the Bryce fanatic among us I hereby offer my 3d models that I built in Bryce 7. and maybe you can use these models in your scenes.
