Note: If I revise this model and re-issue it, I will increment all instances of the "V1" to "V2" and so on.

This V1 release is meant to be a "beta" release. Help me improve future releases by sending me critiques and requests for features.


BACKGROUND

On a whim I adapted Trixiemay's Blender-made ice cream cone model for use in Daz Studio and any application using .obj format.

SHORTCOMINGS

This 3D model ain't perfect. Its construction reflects my current beginner's skill level with Blender and Daz. But it looks ok from a typical distance, I think.

When mixing two flavors, the two corresponding colors will fade into one another with a pixelated, low-resolution appearance near the top of the ice cream heap. This flaw may be reduced by rotating the prop to present an area of the ice cream heap that does not show that flaw as much.


VERSIONS AND FEATURES

This V1 release download includes the model set in DAZ Studio format and .obj format.


DAZ STUDIO RESOLUTION -

These items load into Daz Studio in Base Resolution mode.


DAZ STUDIO IRAY MATERIALS -

Daz version comes with materials presets to select the flavor color options you want.

There are presets to select the 10 basic flavors:

Blueberry
Cherry
Chocolate
Grape
Lemon
Lime
Orange
Peach
Raspberry
Vanilla

And there are presets to select any dual-flavor color combination of those 10 flavors as you wish. Presets exist for any flavor color paired up with any other flavor color, including presets that swap the material zones of the flavor colors.

OBJ LABELING -

Unlike the Daz Studio version, the .obj version does not have the "V1" suffix on the model name. Instead,
it has X07, and is called "Snowfreeze, X07.obj"


INSTALLING THE DAZ STUDIO FORMATTED VERSION on a WINDOWS computer

The usual procedure. If you don't yet know the usual procedure, here's my version of it that should work fine:

1. Unzip the download to some temporary folder, or some folder you have for just this sort of thing.
2. In the resulting unzipped folder structure, open the "Content" folder.
3. MERGE, rather than just copy, the three folders "data", "Props" and "Runtime" to your DAZ 3D Library. (The "Templates" one is optional.) Merging is an option you can pick when trying to copy. So start by simply trying to copy. BUT… when the "Confirm Folder Replace" window pops up, click on the "More…" word in the lower left corner to bring up the window that gives you the option to merge.
4. Click the "Yes" button.

The location of your DAZ 3D Library is likely to be: C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library

…given a standard DAZ Studio installation.


INSTALLING THE DAZ STUDIO FORMATTED VERSION on a MACINTOSH computer

The usual procedure. If you don't yet know the usual procedure, here's my version of it that should work fine:

1. Unzip the download to some temporary folder, or some folder you have for just this sort of thing.
2. In the resulting unzipped folder structure, open the "Content" folder.
3. MERGE, rather than just copy, the three folders "data", "Props" and "Runtime" to your DAZ 3D Library. (The "Templates" one is optional.) Merging is an option you can pick when trying to copy. So start by simply trying to copy. BUT… when the "A folder named XXXX already exists in this location. …" window pops up, click on the "Merge" button.

The location of your DAZ 3D Library is likely to be: Users\Shared\My DAZ 3D Library

…given a standard DAZ Studio installation.

Please feed my ego by crediting me when you publish pictures featuring my models.

In fact, my condition for commercial renders or subsumed redistribution
is that I be notified of it's use so I can brag about it.

Feel free to improve this model's geometry, but still credit Trixiemay as the originator.

Trixiemay's original Blender version of this model has the CC0 license. My adaptation of it thus also carries that CC0 license. Derivatives you make are likely also subject to the CC0 license. You cannot repackage this and sell it.
