Not sure if it was the importing to Blender that screwed up things, or the file was setup this way to begin with, but the objects in this model are very poorly named and they don't even refer to complete objects. For instance some fan blades of the same fan are in one object while others are in some other object. Not sure if this is a good model if you want to get each solid part rendered separately.
PW GTF Geared Turbofan Engine 3D Model
The 3d model was designed according to real engine base, It s created accurately, qualitatively and maximally close to the original. The high detail exterior is great for close up renders, Also the model was created with 3DS Max 2008 using the open subdivision modifier which has been left in the stack to adjust the level of detail.
