Hair Strand Designer 1.42 (PC)
This is a standalone tool for Windows Only.
It allows users to generate hair strands and output textures in 4k, ready for their hair cards.
Just line up your UVs of your hair cards to the textures and then use what ever placement methods you normally use in your chosen 3D application.
Produces 4096*4096 pngs in 8-bit RGB format.
RGBMask - Red controls 2-tone variation, Green is for the Root area and Blue for the tip area, ideal for color customization in a chosen shader.
Normal Map - Only utilizes left and right so no need for FlipY!
Color Map - Using the RGBMask generated it will channel in custom colors in the editor ready for export, good for a base or if you don't intend on using a shader that supports this feature.
Mask Map - Use this as your alpha or opacity mask. This is not an alpha channel so be sure to use R, G or B channels in your shader.
Depth Map
ID Map (Strand mode or Set Mode)
Flow Map - UnrealEngine Config or HUE based for extra control (Flip X Y options)
