Man Loadz - Magic Handz Soft Body Solution for G8M/G8.1M
*** Updated with video showing the hips part of Magic Handz in animation ***
A simple set of solutions to the long standing problem of lack of Soft Body Collision in Daz Studio. This simple system is what we've used for our own renders and now we're making it available to you.
Introducing the Man Loadz - Magic Handz Soft Body Solution for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Male figures. This solution is based on using a set of wearable props for your figure and using them to create the soft body collision effect you want.
Process is simple.
1.) Select the G8M/G8.1M figure you want to do the touching and grabbing, and load the best Magic Handz prop for the job.
2.) Select the object you want to be grabbed. It can be anything, a football, a G9 figure, etc. and then add a smoothing modifier to it and then turn off smoothing enabled.
3.) Then apply our special preset to the object.
4.) Then select the Magic Handz prop as the collision item and then set smoothing to enabled.
That's it. You can use the collision iterations parameter to fine tune how much how strong the effect is (see the examples in the promo photos). We also include adjustment morphs for the Magic Handz props to help with fine tuning too.
You get:
- 1 Left Hand prop
- 1 Right Hand prop
- 1 set of both left and right hands prop
- 1 Hip prop
- 1 Hip and both hands prop
Please see the readme for detailed instructions.
One very important point we to add. Daz's smoothing modifier has a habit of crashing when you select a collision item. We highly recommend you save your scene before setting the Magic Handz prop as the collision item. We know how frustrating it can get to have Daz just crash when you set a smoothing modifier, but sadly that is just how Daz is :/
We hope to bring you more of these in the future.
Thanks for looking and enjoy.
