Hello
not sure, where to put my question, so please admin, move it, if there is a better place.
Is there a tool, a script, something that could make my life easier?
I need butterflies, just as example, many butterflies. And in 3d, not postwork (would be easy).
Now I load 1 butterfly, again and again and ... you got me, right? Until I'm crazy.
Or a little daisy, a field with daisies, anything small, that one need in hundreds.
A nice little tool or script, that would do the job for me in daz studio.
Anyone knows something?
Thanks

Wed, May 21too much duplicating nodes will slow down render times, especially on high polygon models, I suggest the Create >> New Node Instances instead, doesn't add more to render speed (Atleast thats that I know)
If you want to do some really cool things (easily) with instances, check these out:

Wed, May 21Thanks Foxy
I knew I saw something like this before, but couldn't search, cause missing words for it. And I bet, this scatter stuff has been on a very extrem sale.
Well, I have time and buy the next madness-time

Wed, May 21Sure thing!
FYI - I have UltraScatterPro. It works great, and is very easy to use. UltraScatter2 looks like a faster, more efficient version of that. I don't have that version, but plan to get it next time I have the need for it.
Good luck with your project!

Wed, May 21be aware that anything like that is going to break in the upcoming major release of D|S 2025 and it is not a given that any plugins you pay for will be supported/updated.

Wed, May 21Oh yes, thanks for the reminder. Could become a huge waste of money

Instancing is a good option for this. Using the Ultrascatter tool gives you lots of control, but even the basic multi instancing in DazStudio can quickly copy 20 and place them in the scene. Then you just move them around a bit to where you need them.

Wed, May 21Yes, for this time it was enough with just a handful so to say, no need to spend money

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it, and I haven't used it for instancing myself. It has a nice randomizer too, this or other of his tools are worth checking out if you can get them at a discount:

Thu, May 22Oh stupid me, I could have thought about that, I have it for UltraScenery (but it's only working with that)
Thank you
Thank you

It's very late, but: how realistic should / must the butterflies be? Instead of decals (which render very sluggish) there are also a few simple Iray tricks with projections on hollow bodies.
And for realism, it could be just one real 3D butterfly placed in the foreground so that it can be admired in all its glory.
You can see what I mean by Iray etc. here:
