Muscles for G2 & G3
361I have "SY Intense Muscle Genesis 8, 8.1, and 9" [ https://www.daz3d.com/sy-intense-muscle-genesis-8-81-and-9 ]. I would like and would be interested in buying a version of this for G2 & G3 especially G2M & G3M.

Probably not enough artists using these older figures to make creating a version worthwhile. Have you looked at any of the "Swole" products on DAZ 3D?

Sun, Nov 09I understand what you are saying that not many people are using the older versions to make it worth while but ...
... But ...
... BUT looking at it from another perspective, everyone is making packages for G8 & G9. Thus, if a developer makes something for those versions, his / her product is going to be competing with a lot of packages for G8 & G9 but if (s)he makes it for those earlier versions there will be no competition and a better chance of it being purchased.
I guess it could go either way. G2 & G3 has a smaller audience but a greater chance that the package will be purchased. G8 & G9 has a larger audience but a smaller chance that the package will be pruchased.

Sun, Nov 09You could try asking SY directly. I've corresponded with her before, and she's pretty approachable. Just sayin' don't get your hopes up on anything new for G2 or G3, and that there are already lots of muscle morphs for both generations at DAZ that look pretty comparable to the examples you gave.

Sorry but this is absolutely not true. While people may not get on board for the new and shiny at first, they're absolutely not going to purchase older generation items for the full price that it would make it worth the vendor's time. I've been creating content since V4/M4, switching generations will have their push back initially, people will leave the hobby and some will start... and people will eventually use the next generation. Vendors that hold out on the last generation will then have to scramble to make something for the new generation when the last gen products saturate the market to the point there is no money to be made.
I'm not going to put words in Sickleyield's mouth, but she's been in this business as long as I have. She's approachable, has tons of tutorials to help people getting started with using DAZ figures, but her rent still needs to be paid. There's no real money in making products for previous generations.

It all comes down to the number of units sold. sell 10, or sell 50. Making stuff for the newer products that are used more, is just smart business odds.

Wed, Nov 12Let me put it another way. You have a pool of 50 G9 users and 100 G9 packages being offered for purchase. Those 50 buyers have limited funds so unless you offer exactly what they want, you are competing with 99 other G9 developers.
Now lets say there are only 10 G2 users but you are the only one offering G2 stuff, you are more likely to get a decent amount of those 10 G2 users.
Smaller pool but larger percentage of sales. Nobody probably understood a word of what I said LOL
Bottom line is that if anyone is offering any G2 or G3 stuff as far as new characters or hair styles or body or face morphs, I'd be interested.

Thu, Nov 13I do understand your rationale and suggestion.
But you are forgetting the thousands of products already at Daz3D for Genesis2 that are being regularly sold for pennies on the dollar that compete for daily spending.
The customers will scoop those up first, because they can get many discounted pieces at a good price, and maybe wishlist your brand new G2F or G2M products and wait for it to discount to 70-80-90% off. just the nature of the marketplace.
It absolutely sucks to be a vendor in this current recession marketplace.
But I do wish you luck on finding vendors that will consider older generations. I'm just saying, if they are talented enough to make quality products, Making for G8F or G9 just makes good business sense. For a part time hobbyist, well maybe those considerations are not as important.

Thu, Nov 13Any seller can upload their products for all generations of Genesis from G1 to G9 on Renderhub. Discounts are entirely at the seller's discretion; in any case, discounts exceeding 40% are currently impossible here.

Thu, Nov 13Yes you are correct for Renderhub, and that is great for the vendors here, I was mentioning the other store that is much less kind to vendors.

Thu, Nov 13Let me clarify, my main go to is G8. G8 stuck around much longer than previous Genesis's and I am well stocked on them and I will continue to purchase for them. But because I have so much stuff for G8, my G2 & G3 inventory seems smaller by comparison and I would like to add to it whenever I can.
From my perspective, G9 seems to be a step backwards or a step sideways.
Thank you again all for listening
