I'm seeing new stuff for M4 & V4 -- let's not forget M5 & V5
312I'm looking for new cartoon'ish looking characters for Genesis 1. Stuff like this ==> "Jason/Jasmin for Genesis (Uber Bundle)" [ https://www.daz3d.com/jason-jasmin-for-genesis-uber-bundle ]. So if you want other things to create other the M4 & V4, please consider making new cartoon'ish looking characters for Genesis 1.

So far as I know all that new stuff for M4 and V4 is old stuff that was previously available at another store, so the vendor has not created them recently.

I see. Well, if there are any previously developed G1 characters that have a cartoon'ish look to them, I would be interested in them if I don't already own them

I would be cautious on buying some items for M4/V4. Aside from some material issues, if the items were rigged in Poser they may not work in Daz Studio. I saw one item that was recently released here that I had bought years ago and when it didn't work in DS the vendor said it was made for poser. So I'm assuming with the mass dumping of products here nothing was changed and most likely work in Poser only.

Wed, Oct 22I think the vendor has tested 99% of those items in daz, making most of them for people who only used daz, so I think they are safe. Only the ones for Poser 9 and above, or ones that say they are a PMD injection, will not work in daz... or so i've heard...

Wed, Oct 22and I think the only reason they were not labeled for Daz in the past is because they didn't supply render inside daz for the store they were posted on... or so the rumor goes.
I actually suggested to one artist recently that they sell bundles of their old and discontinued items. A lot of users -- myself included -- missed out on these items back in the day, and there's no way to purchase them from any of the stores, meaning that the only way to acquire them now are by less-than-legal means and the vendor doesn't make a dime off of them as a result.
However, the work has already been done, the products are made, and a vendor could sell them as legacy bundles as-is, meaning that these are older products made for earlier versions of Poser and/or DAZ Studio, and that they're sold with little or no support, use them at your own risk. Charge $15-to-$25 or so for a given bundle (various collections of hair, clothing, characters, etc.) and see if they sell. Depending on the vendor and products involved, God knows there's a lot of older stuff I would love to purchase right now, even if it came with no support.

Fri, Oct 24I've been at this since the early days of Possette in Poser and still have all that great old content. Vicky Fourpointtwoplusplus is still my most used figure for a wide variety of reasons.
Asking here for that stuff won't work because all this stuff was sold through Daz and Rendo and a few other places that no longer exits. Much of it is no longer available anywhere. I'd ask at Rendo and Daz and see what kind of response you get.

Fri, Oct 24That was my point: you can't buy that old content anymore from the other sites, but there's nothing stopping the vendors who created it from reissuing it again now as legacy content here. I'm pretty sure someone like Michael Rak (Sanctum Art) still has all of his RD Phenotype creatures stashed away on a hard-drive or CD somewhere. He could create a vendor account here, put them up for sale individually or as a bundle, and maybe price them at say $5 bucks apiece or $25 for the bundle, being very upfront that these items were made for older versions of Poser and DAZ Studio, that they may not work well or even at all in newer versions of these programs, and that they're sold as-is with limited or no support, use at your own risk. In that situation, I would absolutely buy every single thing he put up for sale, and I'm sure a lot of other people would, too. The alternative is that people anyone wishing to own and use this content have to look for pirated copies, and Mr. Rak doesn't get a dime out of it. It would be a win for everyone: the customers get legal copies of content that can't be acquired legally anywhere else, and the vendor and hosting site earn revenue from the sales.
The only complications I can see against this would be previous contractual limits that prohibit legacy content from being resold ever again or resold anywhere other than with the hosting site that originally sold it, but after seeing content creators move their catalogs between places like Content Paradise, Renderosity, DAZ3D, RuntimeDNA, here, etc., I don't think that that's much of an issue. There's also the problem with sales possibly not justifying keeping these items on the hosting site's servers, which is why the various stores do clearances periodically, but for certain vendors and certain content, I'm pretty sure that the demand would be there.
Again, the work needed to create these items has already been done, they're (hopefully) just sitting on a back-up hard-drive or CD/DVD somewhere gathering dust and not earning any revenue for their creators or hosting sites, the only way for customers to get them is through less-than-legal means -- why not reissue them, give customers what they want legally, and earn a few bucks in the process?

Fri, Oct 24You're right, I missread the intent of your post.
Some of the reluctance to sell could be a lack of interest. I know of a few who closed up shop because they where tired of it and didn't want to bother anymore.

Fri, Oct 24I'm interested in buying
1) unique looking Genesis 2 characters -- regular folks but that don't have a generic look to them
2) Cartoon looking characters for Genesis 1 base.

Fri, Oct 24For good-looking Genesis 2 characters, my personal favorite vendors were Raiya, Valea, and Jessaii (AKA Silver) over at DAZ 3D. For toon-type Genesis 1 characters, look at Smay's catalog, also over at DAZ 3D.
