Mac compatibility of my G8F figures (CLOSED)

I had a recent communication from an individual who told me,
"Your characters are some of the best out there, wonderful personalities. I certainly hope you make them compatible with Macs soon!"
We got into a little discussion and, as a test, I uploaded one of my girls to him for testing. He was able to access the character, built on my PC, on his Mac.
So I guess the only thing I have to say is that the disclaimer that I put on all of my 65 girls that they are not Mac-compatible is not true.
Unfortunately I do not own a Mac (haven't used one in 21 years) and until this person contacted me had no way of being able to test them out on a Mac. But he did it for me, so now I can say...
All the GD girls in my store

are able to be used on a Mac.

The biggest misunderstanding I've seen of the Poser/Daz community is Mac/Windows compatibility. Unless you are making plugins, content is no different between between the two platforms. The difference is in the program itself (therefore the plugin mention).

Tue, Aug 02, 2022Thanks for the comment.

So, if I am reading you correctly, both Windows and Mac versions of Daz Studio are able to read the content. Of course both Windows and Mac have a different form of file hierarchy (from what I somehow remember about the Mac) but anyone loading PC-created content into the Mac will be able to use that content.

Wed, Aug 03, 2022Yes. The same folder structure is used, and I guess non-Mac and non-Windows don't realize that. But, yeah, the same duf/image/etc files are used for both, nothing different/special to differentiate between the two.

Mon, Aug 08, 2022So removing the "not Mac-compatible" from the characters' descriptions would not be "luring" a Mac user "into a fate worse than Death".

Mon, Aug 08, 2022That's correct. Until you start doing scripts and plug-ins, you don't have anything to worry about. And with scripts, some work with both Mac and Windows, some don't. Plug-ins are the same, some have to be OS specific.
I use both Mac and Windows, there is NO difference in regular content (figures/characters/props/environments/etc). DUF files, image files, etc., are installed and handled the same.
You should have NO PROBLEM removing the "not Mac-compatible" from your character descriptions.
