Frankly, is it with such models that the creators of Daz studio hope to convince us to abandon Genesis 8 male and its dozens of addons and improvements of all kinds. Is this the image of male beauty they have in mind? Monsters or insipid men without any charisma?

They're working with what's been submitted so far. And this grizzled, grungy look is M3D's style, like it or not (I'm personally a fan). So far it seems like all anyone wants to make is women, and that's not just limited to Daz. That's here and Renderosity as well. M3D has always made a good mix of both genders, so it's logical that one of the first men would be one of his. The other two main males so far have been Michael and Nikolai. So if you're not into M3D, so far there's a 2/3 ratio of quality core characters to chaff. There's been a higher ration of G9 throwaways for females.

It's helpful to remember that Genesis 8 has had over five years for development of custom characters, morphs, and other addons. That's longer than any other previous generation of figures. Anyone expecting to immediately see that same level of content for a new release is either very new to this hobby or just has an extremely unrealistic concept of how these things work. When Genesis 8 first came out the same type of snarky and trolling comments about a perceived "lack of content" were everywhere. There is still a ton of new content being released for 8/8.1 every day.
If you like Genesis 8 then keep working with it. If you like some of the Genesis 9 changes and features then convert your characters from 8/8.1 to 9. Nobody has ever had to abandon previous generations of figures and if anything Daz has put considerable effort into allowing cross-generational compatibility.
I think it's important to remember that nobody owes anyone a goddamn thing when it comes to the style of content released. Maybe instead of baseless complaints about what others are doing that energy could be redirected into creating what they'd like to see.

I remember people complaining that G8M looked too feminine/wasn't masculine enough. And vice versa with G8F. Even though these bases looked identical to G3 except with a different starting pose.

I can't help railing against DAZ. After Micheal 4, Micheal 5, 6, 7, 8 and 8.1, DAZ studio has chosen to conform to the prevailing ideology of gender indifferentiation, finally opting for a completely androgynous male genesis mesh, a mesh that doesn't allow for any realism in correct male musculature. The poor add-ons offered on the site don't change anything. If you compare with older versions, it's blatantly true. How to dare offer us a genesis 9 that adds nothing new to the old versions, and moreover is the worst version of genesis male that has ever existed, shows total contempt for users. Certainly others like me, who for years have bought dozens of addons to improve Genesis 8 and 8.1, feel disappointed and betrayed. The male characters have become androgynous, devoid of the slightest charisma. Worse still, they've all become equally ugly. It's as if the developers ("female" I suspect) had never seen a man's body in their lives. How sad to see a flagship product in 3D creation become so mediocre. Sorry for my bad English.

G9 was made for making female characters, or at least characters with breasts.
I've only seen one non-female character that doesn't show evidence of trying to reshape or reduce the size of the breasts for a male or a prepubescent character. There's a distinct I__I__I crease and shape that's always there, even if it's faintly.
