Hi , I'm just wondering why when a new character comes out on here there is no nude pics of the model to show color of nipples ect so a person can see what they are getting before buying , I know a few of the artists here do it but why soo many don't is it frowned upon ? and also more close up pics would be great , I just like to see what I'm getting when I spend $

I think that's down to setting your user experience. Granted, you only have to flag the product page for nudity it it's the main promo pic, but I and many others browse on moderate or strict for a reason - we have eyes we want to shield, or would be otherwise embarrassed if we were seen popping through pictures of boobies and other digital naughty bits. Though if it's something you strongly feel would make you pull the trigger, you can always ask the vendor directly, because they may have some stashed away that they'd be happy to link for you. Or I'll single out Dexon3D for this one, have a patreon or DA page that show their figures in great detail.

I include nude promos for my characters, and get lots of thank-you messages from customers for doing that.

And explain how this might help them get more sales. That might get their attention.

I think this site should do just like R'Osity does and have a 18+ water mark thingy where you leave it up to the person browsing if they want to see that image--problem solved. and thanks for the feedback peeps I much appreciate it .

If a user doesn't want to see adult content, they put their SafeSite filter to moderate or strict.

If they want to see everything, they turn it off.
The owner set it up kind of like Google SafeSearch.

Wed, Jan 25, 2023I actualy thought you guys had deleted them, because I violated some kind of rule that I was unaware of. Because they also did not show up in "my gallery"
I know this is an old topic, old but useful. I will answer as a person who publishes characters and in promo avoids nudity.
"If you don't have anything to show, show your boobs." Everyone has heard it at some point in their lives. I remember to this day when I published the first designs of my Xianmei - at that time the character had large breasts. Not exaggeratedly large but visible. The character was clothed, yet commenters in that group accused me that "when a character has no way to defend itself, you show that it has boobs." At the time, I didn't even think that someone could perceive it that way, because, after all, women have breasts and it's perfectly normal.
I've since started hiding nudity on my promos, although I can see that it doesn't work - because people will gladly buy even inferior items at the same price when they see models naked.
I am not an artist who publishes models strictly for erotic graphics. I share what I think is noteworthy.
The second issue is the availability of the product. Even when I'm looking for a woman's character for lingerie scenes, I browse the site on restriction. That's because when I turn them off, the search page starts to resemble a porn site, and in that negative sense of the word. I wouldn't want customers who are looking for my products to not find them by the fact that they don't want to see bare asses exposed directly to the camera. Therefore, I can label a character as sexy or suggestive, but I make sure not to go beyond that line. I am convinced that I am not the only one who thinks this way.
Things like the color of the nipples are the least important - because if you like the whole model, after all, you can change the color of the nipples in any graphics program - just choose a coffee color, give a new layer, splash two big dots in the nipple areas with that color and use the add or subtract option on the layer.
However, I always have renders of the same figure without clothes, in case anyone asks. And I think any artist who cares about the good experience of his audience would be willing to change texture details on special request.

Thu, Mar 30, 2023When I shop for characters I usualy hope the vendor has some nude pictures and a few pictures from all sites and if there are detail shots of the skin, thats even better.
Because usualy I just buy them for the skin textures alone. Face Morphs are cool too, body morphs are useless for me.
And if I can't see 80% of the skin texture, I often don't buy it, even if the face morph is cool and the promo art is fantastic.
Thats a particular problem when shopping over at DAZ, because they do not show much of the skin at all in promos.
Of course I'm totally with you, when we are talking about the main shop gallery picture. The main thumbnail really does not need to show any nudity at all.

Having a few nude shots helps show them in their entirety, but that - for me anyway - only really becomes a concern for certain characters. If I'm not going to do nudes of them, I don't need to worry too much about what they're sporting underneath everything.
I do think the process can be tweaked a bit for characters, as some will want to see them nude and do them for nude+ renders, but others may want them as well even though they're trying to keep their viewing experiences strictly modest and plan on using them for entirely family-friendly renders. Clothing and accessories are a bit more clear-cut.

I have an excellent idea!
For those artists who want to do family-friendly content for various reasons, but also want to show what the character really looks like.
Since the gallery script has been improved and it is now possible to mark images as nudity, you can give links to galleries under the product, with the appropriate annotation.
I will try to do it this way from now on. I believe that someone who is professionally involved in animation or creating custom images does not have time to go around the privs and ask for additional materials.
Of course, I'm not trying to persuade anyone to take their images off the product. Everyone posts what they think will be appropriate. Rather, this is advice for cowards like me.

Well, I'm not usually a forum pounder but, here I is... oh joy. If you're perusing the website, AND shopping, I will assume you've seen at least a Gen model of any version and they only come one way, nudely, and since the artists pretty much want their hard work to interest someone enough to purchase it, the 'product' (I hate using that word) must be represented faithfully. The rendered images shown must show the model in its entirety. If not, then I have to admit I'd have doubts about a few things. Is the modeller hiding flaws? Is the model capable of being used and rendered in all the ways we now consider ... uhhh... de rigeur so to speak. As an example, one of the items I am constantly looking for is hair, and I'm picky. Now I am almost exclusively deforce, its what I want to use and I kinda use well. While looking at... hair... (that was an awkward sentence LOL!) I have noticed a few that I was seriously thinking of grabbing but the rendered views were static and only that single 1/4 turn; I never saw the hair from the rear. Well, I dunno about youse, but my characters turn around, face different directions and don't and WILL NOT ever just look at the freaking camera; people don't do that. They move thru space, turning, bending, spinning, fall over, and all kinds of lovely actions and if the hair is only useful from one angle its useless to me and I am not putting cash on the line for it. It also stinks of laziness but that's just my own lower voice speaking and I mean no disrespect to any artist out there. But, this is also letting you know... if I can't see all the model, I am not that sure you

I was posting images at .. koff koff... another site, cos I"d shopped there and the other day I posted a very family friendly image I'd ripped of the trumpf after the indictment announcement and had some chains hanging from his wrists. without warning or message it was promptly deleted, period. After a minutes checking I found the site is based in Tn... well, that explained it all ... it was just a bunch of trumfers really really ticked off for my posting something they found offensive. ROFLMAO!
I"m happy to know and I'm happy to be here and I am in total amazement at the talent I see all around me. Youse all definitely gots some chops and tha's pretty kewl.

Karaoke Terror is based on "Popular Hits of the Showa Era", wonderful novel.
Alienoid is on my list too. I never watched Shanghai Knights, hmmm...
I think my favorite martial arts movie is Chocolate (Thai) cos the main character is autistic. But, ohhhh the fight sequences... they had so many injuries on that movie LOL!
Then there's the gorgeous Tampopo which I keep loaning out and having to find another copy cos I never get it back. ha ha.
I loved the new Reacher, The Boys, etc etc.. but, that's easy stuff. I used to work a club in NYC back in the early 80s called 8BC. great place, small, and had everything from bands to performance art pieces. I just did the door/security which involved getting stupidly fucked up and getting ppl to give us money for the bands. If you showed up in a limo or a taxi it was $10. Local $5 or I'd just wave you in. The rest of the time I was an occasional punching bag and security scare crow I loved Richard Kern and Nick Zedd's stuff just cos they had so much fun and pissed off so many people.

Then, along the way, I had a good discussion with one of the admins here (whose identity shall remain confidential) who read me the "riot act" about marketing. And since then roughly half the promo images of my girls are nudes - close-ups and full-bodied. I do both 21- and 18-year-old females and both age groups have nude promo images.
The one place, however, where I draw the line about nudity is crotches. I will put semi-transparent panties and bikini bottoms on the models, or if I do allow nudity of that part of the anatomy I make sure that a shadow falls on that part of the body. Call me a prude if you will, but I don't want anyone to accuse me of porn.

For a buyer to ask to see the full texture before purchasing is completely legitimate.
I exhibited images on another 3D site, my account was blocked 2 times because I broke the rules unintentionally. At the 3rd time it is the final exclusion. As a result, I no longer put images on this site, I just watch what others are doing. It is difficult for a European (French) to understand the limits not to be exceeded on a US site.
I think an acceptable solution is to include in the product description that views of the nude model are available upon request.

Wed, Apr 12, 2023It's as my sister said years and years ago after she and my brother-in-law and family moved to Holland:
"Americans are such prudes".
"Americans are such prudes".
It also affects how things like outfits behave on sites sold. For the places where "you're showing way too much thigh there, pardner" is in place, you're probably not going to get to unzip or unbutton anything, even the shoes or the winter coat. It might be something for those entering the contest to think about.
