make money ? (CLOSED)

Hi , I was thinking about making stuff ( characters , environments and props ) to sell here and was curious if people are making enough money doing it or is really not worth the time effort and money . I don't see anywhere that shows an artists sales track record , to see if it's profitable.

Depends on what you're making them with, how much you're willing to put out there, and how experienced you are. With characters, for example, it's easy enough to make back the cost of any merchant resources you buy. But if you're wondering if it's worth it to pay for a year of ZBrush in hopes that it pays for itself, keep in mind that you're going to hustle like a madman for it, and nothing big will happen right away. You're not paying the rent with it, you're paying for your hobby with your hobby.

-If you already discovered that the world of 3d is your passion and you have talent for it, surely you have a future to sell your products, because you will not only do it because it is a job, but you will also do it with pleasure.
-But you will have to learn to use programs, to learn the basics of making 3d models, I assume you already know, otherwise you wouldn't ask.
-Like any project, if you start to sell, things do not happen immediately, it is progressive, and it depends on the quality of your products, so will be the scope that your sales will have, over time you will have your customers who will be buying your products, and as in any store, there are good times with many sales and others that are not very good.
-But if you think that you can earn hundreds of thousands of dollars in a month in a store, you will probably be disappointed, but I think that if you can receive good profits of 3 zeros monthly when you do well.

Thanks for answering guys , I do enjoy playing around with this stuff I'm just worried that anything I'd make for sale would not be well received and I'm not sure the best way to go about it .

Thu, Feb 02, 2023You can start by putting a first object in free.
You must respect the package creation rules (the location of the objects in the "My Library" folder, otherwise the package will be declined).
In my store there are several objects that have not had a single buyer, I deduce that no one needs them to make an image, or that there are already so many of these that one more is irrelevant.

Well, it depends. Sometimes a product takes off. Other times it doesn't. Putting yourself out there really helps as well. Because 3d is really a niche field, building a trusting customer base goes a long way. When you start it's the hardest time IMHO, because no one knows whether your products work or not. So they wait for feedback from others to come in. A fair share of your earnings would come from regular customers.
Marketing is another thing that your success depends on heavily. I usually dedicate some time each day for getting out into the web and sharing something about my work. Participating in forums can also contribute to your work being seen. Making things that are useful such as tutorials, tips, being in general helpful to others goes a long way.

as a artist write time ago: it is not a sprint, it is marathon.
U will not be rich in no time. if it cover the cost U have, it will be good.
the amount of sales are different from month to month and over the year it may cover the cost of the electric you uses.
some of my products are never saled and I think first I should kick them out.
then I start to rebuild them and find out, I can doe better.
at the end, it is fun to see your own work ready and if people like it, that makes U happy and feeling good.
thats the reason 4 me to make 3D-Figures and pictures.
carry on all and happy rendering
